Fuck it, no more anything anymore lol
If AI is gonna be in everything then I just won't buy anything
Only stuff from well before 2022 from now on. Honestly, thank God.
Before iPhones, the idea that you could see someone else play a game, see a heavily edited clip from a movie, or see out-of-context panels from one-off issues of comic books instead of actually playing, watching, or reading them, and still call yourself a fan of them was absurd
@Regazsz Posers (people who pretend to be into something they've never done) have always existed
Larpers (people who say they're into something they've only done an 'Allegory of The Cave' version of and yell at you if you say it's not the same as actually doing it) are new.
If you are able to access this website and read this tweet then I can almost guarantee that you own a device that can reliably play at least Persona 1-4 for free
Larping is a choice
ok lol i don't do this often but owning any console at all is 100% a privilege lol. You might not feel like it is one because you might be surrounded by many who share the same privileges and you just take it for granted
There are real people on this website who will try and convince you that "Ocarina of Time but it looks like a Fumito Ueda game and Link is a cool guy that shops at Hot Topic and you have a big butt sexy imp companion" is a bad video game
Obviously you need to play a video game to experience it, not just watch someone playing
But the "games" in this discourse are always JRPGs, visual novels and YouTuber horror games which barely even qualify as games to begin with
But no one ever wants to say that part out loud
WW is for people who liked the 1st half of OoT and wanted more "young lad goes on a charming but epic fantasy quest" stuff
TP is for people who liked the 2nd half of OoT and wanted more "cool hero guy slaying evil monsters and getting hoes while on horseback" stuff
ICO vs SotC
One of the worst implicit beliefs people have about video games is the idea that game design has followed a kind of objective and linear path of improvement and this warrants remaking everything to modern standards
There's no reason to feel better about this.
The grievances are deep, urgent and valid and nothing but removal of genAI entirely will address them.
We cannot be complacent and accepting of shallow responses like this from game companies just because it's an IP we love.
The fact still remains that these assets are generated from the unethical theft and vandalism of the work of real human beings without consent in facilities that is destroying the water, electrical and land resources around them at an insane rate.
Make no mistake, GenAI must be completely removed from not just the gaming industry, but entirely.
There is no halfway points or fence sitting on this.
If any video game that is made uses ChatGBT Gemini Grok Banana whatever the fuck, I’m not buying it.
“guess you’ll get left behind—“ GOOD. I like video games for the art, you like video games for the capital. We are not the same.
So it begins, the era of gaming where we have to fully avoid games that utilize gen ai. I was so excited to finally have a chance to play this, but now it just feels dirty.
PSA TO GAME DEVELOPERS/PUBLISHERS: I will not buy your game if you used genAI at any point during production, and neither will anyone who likes and RTs this post.
Hope this helps! ❤️
I and anyone with any actual taste will never ever knowingly spend money on anything that was made even in the smallest part by AI
Revel in and be proud of enjoying the slop they feed you all you want, we're never going to stoop to your level.
Ya'll may not like it, but AI is going to be how games stop taking 10 years to release, and cut dev time in half, by making the pipeline more streamlined.
Cry all you want, but people don't want to wait entire console generations to get the latest game in a series they liked.
And that's it for me, not buying anything @SEGA if I see Gen AI involved.
Don't want your slop. You're a company with more money than God, you can pay actual people to do actual work.
i really hate to do this to y'all but on the steam page sega has confirmed that generative AI was used in the development of this game. please don't let your nostalgia override your morals here. support human artists
