I joined the Army at 17yo as a combat medic. I was the medic in a platoon of about 50 infantry soldiers.

As a medic you train your guys in the platoon on basic trauma intervention in case you’re the one that goes down.

Every time I did IV training for my guys, this guy named Parks would pass out as he was being stuck with the needle.

It’s a vasovagal or “fight or flight” response.

Parks fear of needles would literally cause him to go unconscious.

It’s the first time I learned what they will never teach you in any formal medical training.

Your mind controls your physical health more than people know.

When you are in distress or nervous your blood pressure increases. Constant stress can cause physiological changes that cause you to maintain a high BP leading to a host of other health complications.

So, who benefits off of our constant distress?

The medical industrial complex and Big Pharma.

A happy healthy society is not good for business.

That’s not a conspiracy theory, that’s an absolute fact.

The stress that we live under in this society is sort of unavoidable. They know that, and they love it.

Try to do things to limit that stress as much as possible.

I lift weights for that very reason. I really don’t care about looking a certain way, exercise is just an excellent way to decompress.

Don’t let these assholes beat you.

Get out and clear your mind. Do something physically exerting, it releases endorphins you won’t get anywhere else.

Not to be graphic, but have as much sex as possible with your partner. It’s healthy.

One of the hardest things to do - but it’s absolutely necessary - is completely shut out those stressors when you are with your kids.

I have a hard time doing that myself, but I consciously try to.

Kids are just sponges that love you unconditionally and yearn for that love back, direction, and discipline.

Avoid pharmaceuticals. Don’t let these assholes beat you.
