Today in our city of Pavlohrad, the Russians killed people with drones who were simply near shopping malls. As of now, four people have been reported killed… My condolences to their families and loved ones. More than 60 people were wounded in this strike alone. Everyone is receiving the necessary assistance. Dozens of people were also wounded in Kramatorsk by Russian bombs that struck residential buildings. Other cities and communities in the Dnipro and Donetsk regions, as well as the Sumy, Chernihiv, and Kharkiv regions, also came under attack. In the evening, Dnipro and Kyiv were also targeted.

We are working as intensively as possible with our partners so that we can protect Ukrainians from this Russian terror. Today, there will be decisions on additional support packages for Ukraine, including defense assistance and support specifically for protecting our skies. We are also preparing additional support packages. The world sees what Russia is doing. And Ukraine will have support. One hundred percent of our attention is focused on this now – concrete strengthening of our defense, concrete funding for defense, and concrete opportunities for weapons manufacturers to protect lives. Efforts to deal with the aftermath of the Russian strike on Dnipro are ongoing. A drone attack has set a warehouse building at a Nova Post terminal and vehicles on fire. Units of the State Emergency Service are working at the site, continuously extinguishing the fire. About 70 first responders and 40 police officers have been deployed, along with nearly 30 pieces of equipment. Everyone is doing their utmost. Fortunately, there are no casualties.

All these attacks must be stopped. All that’s needed is sufficient support for our defense and continued pressure on Russia. Our long-range sanctions, partners’ sanctions, and all forms of political and economic pressure on Russia must work so that real security can be achieved. Only pressure will bring about peace.

Over this week, the Russians have launched more than 2,300 attack drones, nearly 1,560 guided aerial bombs, and 108 missiles of various types against our people. All these strikes were directed simply at ordinary civilian infrastructure – residential buildings and energy facilities. Every day, we are working to ensure greater protection against Russian terror. Yesterday, we received a new IRIS-T launcher. We thank Germany for its constant contribution to protecting people; thousands upon thousands of lives have been saved thanks to such strong support. But we also need missiles for air defense systems so that we have sufficient capabilities to repel Russian attacks.

This week, there were significant arrangements with Sweden – a new support package, including for strengthening our aviation with Gripen fighter jets. As for the PURL initiative, there are new contributions this year, and support for this initiative must continue. We are counting on both the United States and European partners. It is anti-ballistic defense that is one of the key priorities for Ukraine.

Strong air defense can provide greater protection for our people and deprive Russia of its last remaining advantage. I thank all partners who are helping, who are ready to respond effectively to Moscow’s attempts to expand and escalate its war. It is very important that this be clearly understood there: choosing war will have consequences. I am grateful to everyone who stands with Ukraine.
