Last week at @getyourteachon I shared ⚡️@MathTherapy⚡️ with 1200 educators & half of them 𝙬𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙣’𝙩 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙣 𝙢𝙖𝙩𝙝 𝙩𝙚𝙖𝙘𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙨. We may not all be teachers of MATH, but we are ALL teachers of MATH ATTITUDES + healing our collective math trauma helps US ALL in the end❤️🩹
Best group of math and business teachers I’ve ever known. Here they are all fresh and ready for a new year. Hope everyone had a great #firstdayofschool! @1FarmingtonHS

@KarlaChips Little more complicated w/block;would need to assess Th/F then M/T.Tues kiddos get a ton more time to prep.Doesn’t seem valid & reliable, have to make sure it’s a different set of kids getting extra prep each time to even it out.Need to prevent parent outrage in a Jr. year class!
Seeking ideas for stds based HS math Assessment in a hybrid model with a block schedule. Do we assess students at home and in class at the same time? Does this make an unfair advantage? More “explain” type questions instead of calculations? Multiple versions?
Grateful for the Farmington Town Council and their proclamation this evening in honor of the Class of 2020. June 11, 2020 is officially Farmington High School Graduation Day! #OneSchoolOneCommunityOneUs
HAPPY DISTRACTION TIME! A brand new set of Women in Science postcard collection (based on book by artist @ignotofsky ) that I will give away on April 1 or when this tweet gets 200 RTs, whichever happens first. My thanks for supporting the Great Women of Mathematics project. 😃
I will be here learning! Anyone want to join? Great opportunities! If you’ve never had the chance to go to the NCTM Annual Meeting, here is your chance. (Most of us educators here in NY can never make it-the ELA usually falls during the same week.) Come with me to a session!
@NilsHeadley@ablinstein@ddmeyer Love it! Good luck this week. Quadratics are hard enough when you’re in the same room with ur students. Hit the hoop is a great activity, I’m sure they’ll have good take-aways from it.
