Author Julian Sedgwick and Chie Kutsuwada visited Falkirk High last Thursday to speak to pupils about their new book 100 Tales from the Tokyo Ghost Cafe. Chie did some illustrations. Pupils will be entered into a prize draw to win one of them. #weareFHS
Falkirk High pupils attended the RED Book Award ceremony on Friday where they got a chance to meet the authors of the four shortlisted books and get their books signed. The students had a brilliant time. Their only complaint was the ceremony didn't last long enough! #weareFHS

It's only Monday and already we have two Bronze Reading Rock Star award winners - Dylan and Bonnie, S1. Maria and Lachlan, S1 have gained their Silver award and Nia , S2 has now achieved her Diamond award. Well done guys! #weareFHS

Dr Sheila Kanani has won the Royal Society Young People's Book Award, with her book Can You Get Rainbows in Space? Funnily enough, this book was also the favourite with our pupils who were shadowing the award! #weareFHS

What a busy day we had yesterday for World Book Day.
The Gateway pupils visited the library with Mrs Malcolm to do a book treasure hunt. Then S1-S3 pupils did a 'Drop Everything and Read', period 2. Finally Mr Fraser's class visited the library to take part in the Reading Game.
