Is the earth flat? Where is Europe? What is the capital of Italy? These were just a few of the questions that were asked today during our geography lesson. Year 3 enjoyed exploring the length of the world using an atlas 🌎 @FHTGeography@GreenwoodSch@MissMiles16
Another day of fantastic learning in Year 5 for our new enquiry: ‘Why do trees need a voice?’ We learnt about rainforests and their different layers, I’m so impressed with Y5’s creations! @GreenwoodSch@FHTGeography
Where had the best food in Europe? I wonder what our Year 3s think after their 'something special,' food tasting afternoon? Olives anyone? Or maybe Haggis? 🤔 @GreenwoodSch@FHTGeography@MissMiles16
Last term, we asked ‘What is the solution to river pollution?’ - we petitioned in Hucknall and collected signatures, which we sent along with a letter to our MP, Mark Spencer.
Today, we received his response and the children extremely proud of their work.
Johnson class had a great time using the VR headsets. They have been up close and personal with lions, jaguars, rhinos and arctic foxes. After, they flew across deserts, tundras and forests.
Year 5 had a 'Taste of South America' to launch their enquiry.
I think we can agree that a few didn’t care for some of them by their amazing expressions haha well done year 5 for being good sports. @FHTGeography
In Autumn, Nursery made posters about our town as a result of their enquiry: Where do I belong? The council have made a banner of their artwork which is displayed in Sutton-in-Ashfield near Costa Coffee in the market place.
🌟Well done Nursery!!! 🌟 @FHTGeography
