🇯🇵 Over 60 years ago, the Tōkaidō Shinkansen (bullet train) debuted! Japan was able to build the world’s first bullet train line in record time for the Tokyo Olympics.
I love the way everyone is dressed here in 1960s style. So cool!
Why China’s rise to world dominance is a mathematical certainty
I will show the case in 3 simple points with the evidence to prove them in this very tweet.
1. China’s modernization engine has a lot of steam left. China’s urbanization rate is just 62.7%, Cf. AE mean* of 84.4%. Some 24.7% of Chinese workers are still engaged in Agriculture (vs 2.1% for AEs). And still only 16.1% of Chinese persons over 25 have a college degree (38.9%). This means that Chinese capabilities are likely to grow a whole lot more before losing steam.
[*AE mean is approximated here by US, Germany and Japan.]
2. China already dwarfs all powers in industrial strength. China has as large a defense-industrial base as the geopolitical West combined. As % of US + Europe + Japan, China’s mfg value-added is 71.7%, electricity production is 117.9%, steel production 294.7%, automobile production 97.1%, machine tools 61.7%, industrial robots 157.6%, and scientific output 52.9%. See attached table.
3. China can already militarily kick the US out of Asia. The US has just been defeated by Iranian ballistic and air-breathing missiles. In a failed attempt to disarm Iran, half the US magazine has been expended while 70% of Iran’s still remains. China can field a vastly larger, more advanced arsenal of missiles than Iran. It can do so in numbers that overwhelm US base defenses in the region. Careful campaign analysis shows that even with the inventories reported by the Pentagon, US bases in Asia will have to be evacuated in under a week (see rt).
In sum, China is the dominant industrial power on earth and all set to become even more dominant. As a result, it is the most powerful defense-industrial power on the planet and likely to become even more powerful. With the weapons at its disposal today, it can already kick the US out of Asia. If it wants to kick out the US any time, it only requires a political decision.
It is a mathematical certainty that the West will lose any hot or cold war with China if it is stupid enough to attempt one.
