🏗️ Every successful FIDIC project starts with a solid understanding of the contract.
Technical expertise gets the work done. But project success is often decided by something else: how well a team understands and applies the contractual framework behind delivery. Misread roles, responsibilities, procedures or risk allocation lead straight to delays, disputes and costs no one budgeted for.
That's why the FIDIC Contracts Introductory Course matters for anyone working in infrastructure.
Built for engineers, project managers, consultants, contract administrators and client representatives, it provides a practical foundation in the principles and application of FIDIC contracts, knowledge that supports better decisions across the whole project lifecycle.
For individuals, it's an investment in capability and career. For organisations, it's an investment in teams equipped to manage obligations, mitigate risk and deliver to time, budget and quality.

The Engineer under FIDIC contracts is not just a technical supervisor. They must act independently, interpret obligations under pressure, and make balanced decisions that affect both Employer and Contractor equally. Few roles in infrastructure carry that level of contractual responsibility.
That is why the new FIDIC Academy course, “The Role of the Engineer Under FIDIC Contracts” is such a timely and valuable addition for infrastructure professionals.
What makes this course particularly compelling is its dual perspective: practical insights from an experienced engineer combined with the legal expertise of two FIDIC Certified Trainers, Abdel Moniem and Taner Dedezade. Participants will explore the Engineer’s powers, duties, impartial role, interactions with the Parties, and the challenges of administering contracts fairly and effectively on live infrastructure projects.
A highly relevant course for engineers, project managers, contract administrators, employers, contractors, and legal professionals working on FIDIC-based projects worldwide.

FIDIC recently held its official FIDIC Day at the @adisummitae 2026, in partnership with the Abu Dhabi Projects and Infrastructure Centre (ADPIC).
The programme covered procurement, FIDIC Contracts in practice, and dispute avoidance and resolution. At the FIDIC Academy workshop, led by trainer Asel El Housan, 120 attendees worked through the kind of questions that matter in practice, including: what is the difference between a Variation and a Claim, and is there any overlapping?
Thank you to the ADPIC team for a seamless and productive collaboration. It was a pleasure to work alongside an organisation committed to raising delivery standards across Abu Dhabi's infrastructure sector.

You don't need to be a contracts specialist to be affected by a contract.
Every day, engineers, project managers, consultants and client representatives make decisions that are shaped by contractual obligations, often without realising how much impact those decisions can have on time, cost and risk.
Yet many professionals enter projects with only a limited understanding of how contracts actually work in practice.
The FIDIC Contracts Introductory Course is designed to change that.
Through practical guidance from experienced industry experts, participants gain a solid foundation in the principles, structure and application of FIDIC contracts, helping them navigate projects with greater confidence and clarity.
Whether you're new to FIDIC contracts or looking to strengthen your understanding of the fundamentals, this course provides the knowledge needed to engage more effectively with contractual matters throughout the project lifecycle.
🎓 Next course starts in June.
