Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development of the Federal Republic of Nigeria; Senior Advocate of Nigeria; Commander of the Order of the Niger; FCIArb(UK)
Public officers must always bear in mind the cliche that power is transient. They have limited time to make their modest contributions & bow out for others to continue. No one can annex public office as a personal chattel. That’s why I recoil from the razzmatazz of public office
ON THE EBOLA SCOURGE
This evening, I held a virtual meeting with the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Professor Muhammad Ali Pate over the Ebola scourge. He shared with me a list of 44 persons with whom the affected person came in contact at the hospital when she had developed the symptoms and an additional two persons who are her domestic staff.
Whilst efforts are ongoing to isolate them for now until there is certainty they had not been infected with the virus, the Aviation authorities are required to put them on a no-fly list for at least 21 days (which is the period that the symptoms are normally expected to manifest).
I have therefore directed the NCAA to immediately inform all local and international airlines of this development. I have also directed the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) to heighten Ebola response and surveillance protocols across all international airports. Measures already being implemented by FAAN include enhanced health screenings, temperature checks, travel history tracking, digital health declarations, and strict inter-agency coordination with the NCDC following regional outbreak alerts earlier.
Today, I was pleased to formally sign the settlement agreements between the Federal Government of Nigeria, the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, Bi-Courtney Limited and Stabilini Visinoni Limited over the nearly 20-year disputes involving MM2 domestic airport and the uncompleted hotel and conference centre opposite the airport. I was joined by the Directors of the Ministry of Aviation, the MD of FAAN, the DG of the ICRC and other Ministry officials. Bi-Courtney Ltd was represented by its alter ego, Dr. Wale Babalakin and his team.
Under President Tinubu’s directive, some two years ago, I initiated and pursued a negotiated settlement with Dr. Wale
Babalakin. As members of the Inner Bar, we both brought all our legal knowledge to bear on so many of the complicated and seemingly intractable issues. We also carried along all members of our teams on both sides. Finally, we found a way out of the logjam.
The signing of the agreements today followed the approval granted by the Federal Executive Council on April 30th this year for the negotiated settlement to take place. It put an end to several claims and counterclaims that travelled all the way from the courts of first instance to the Supreme Court.
Among several immediate benefits is that the Federal Government, will for the first time in nearly 2 decades, begin to earn its own share of the revenue from MM2 and the facility can expand its operations to include regional flights (flights within Africa).

H.E. the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development of the Federal Republic of Nigeria received today, Monday, at his office H.E. Ambassador Yousef bin Mohammed Al-Balawi and Mr. Abdullah Abu Al-Eid, Saudia's Regional Manager for Africa.
Yesterday, I was joined by the Permanent Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Aviation, the MD of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) and the engineering teams from both the Ministry and FAAN. We appraised and approved the design of the Lagos Airport monorail that would take commuters and the flying public from the Ikeja Railway Station (where the Lagos Redline terminates) to the terminal point at the new Murtala Mohammed International Airport (MMIA) Terminal 1 that is now being reconstructed.
There would be 5 stations/stops along the way, namely, Ikeja Station, Domestic Airport Station, Beesam Station, Toll Gate Station and MMI Airport Station.
The monorail is an integral part of the reconstruction of the nation’s major gateway at the MMIA in Lagos.
My deepest sympathies to the families of former Governor of Delta State, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan on his passing. Condolences also to the Government and people of Delta State. May Almighty God grant all those grieving the fortitude to bear this irreplaceable loss.
Earlier today, the entire leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) conferred me with the Christian Icon Award as part of activities to mark its 50th anniversary.
I received the prestigious award alongside the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, the SGF Sen. George Akume, CON, the Delta State Governor, H.E Elder Sheriff Oborevwori, Governor of Oyo State, H.E Engr. Seyi Makinde, former leaders Gen. Yakubu Gowon, GCFR, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, GCFR and Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, GCFR. The former Vice-President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, GCON was also honoured.
Earlier today, I performed the official commissioning ceremony of a State-of-the-Art inflight catering facility at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja. The almost N10 billion facility was built by Sky Chef Things Remembered Services to cater for outbound meals of international flights operating from Abuja.
This great stride was as a result of the clear directive we gave in 2024 that ALL international airlines operating in Nigeria MUST engage local caterers for their inflight meals in their outbound flights. I further enforced this by insisting on seeing contracts signed with local caterers before approving their winter or summer flight schedules. This has spurred the growth of that sector, to the glory of God Almighty.
Thank you, @EZIOKWU09, but President Bola Ahmed Tinubu @officialABAT appointed me to this position to serve the nation, so all real or perceived achievements in the sector are all by his directives. Please kindly support and vote for him.
Yesterday, I played host to Tunde Onakoya, the Nigerian chess master, coach, and founder of the non-profit organization CHESS IN SLUMS AFRICA. He holds the Guinness World Record for the longest continuous chess marathon, playing for hours in Times Square, New York.
Mr. Onakoya payed me a courtesy call and presented to me an original Chess Board with green and white pieces, symbolising the colours of Nigeria. We also settled to a game of chess.
Through the CHESS IN SLUMS AFRICA, he is able to teach chess to children in underprivileged communities. The project gives kids an intellectual identity, helps them get off the streets, and secures academic scholarships. I assured him of support for his cause.
Tinubu Must Go Again 2027 Rally in Yola, Adamawa State — Atiku’s Home.
A massive crowd fills the streets of Yola, sending a strong political message ahead of the 2027 general elections. The rally reflects calls for change and growing political activity in the North-East.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, 2027 is approaching the political conversation is heating up!

We thought we had seen and heard the worst nonsense from certain characters during the Buhari era when there was a conspiracy theory claiming that former Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari died during a medical treatment in London in 2017 and was replaced by a cloned body double or lookalike called Jubril from Sudan.
Now, some educated fellow (supposedly) comes up with an outrageous claim that the President’s appearance and speech yesterday at the launch of the APC Campaign Council was pre-recorded. Meanwhile, both the local and international Press physically covered the event LIVE.
I really don’t know whether to laugh or to cry.
The signs of mental distress are beginning to be evident on some deluded opposition figures.
