🎬🇱🇹 After 3+ years, Futbolo Kambarys is coming to an end.
Thank you to everyone who followed, supported, discussed and shared this journey. Lithuanian football will always remain close to my heart.
Please keep supporting our football. Every bit helps. Goodbye, and thank you!
This is Valdas Dambrauskas in 2000, participating in Lithuanian edition of ‘Who Wants to be a Millionaire’.
He was just a student that never played professional football.
The money he won allowed him to go to England and attend multiple coaching courses. He managed to gain early experience at clubs like Manchester United, Fulham and Brentford.
In 2007, he got a job at ninth-tier English side Kingsbury London Tigers and eventually led them to the best result in their history.
He got 12 different managerial jobs afterwards, mainly in Baltic countries. There was some impressive local success, but there were also heartbreaks on his path.
This year, he won domestic double with Azerbaijani side Sabah, despite Qarabag being firm favourites.
Today, he led Sabah to the league phase of the Champions League for the first time in their history. 🏆
🇪🇺🔥 HISTORIC ACHIEVEMENT!
Valdas Dambrauskas’ Sabah FC have secured a historic victory after a dramatic, emotion-filled clash, booking their place in this season’s UEFA Champions League! 🏆
It will be the first time a Lithuanian coach will lead a team in the Champions League!
❌🇹🇷 A predictable result?
After being met with an exceptionally hostile atmosphere from the home fans in Istanbul, Kauno Žalgiris fell to Beşiktaş.
Now, the Kaunas side faces the return leg at Dariaus ir Girėnas Stadium.

Should he move to Belgrade? 🧐
🤷♂️ No miracle in Split.
After a solid first half that saw FK Žalgiris create several good chances, the miracle never came against Hajduk. The Lithuanian side suffered another defeat and exited the UEFA Conference League third qualifying round 2–9 on aggregate.
Official: FK Kauno Žalgiris will face Beşiktaş in the Europa League fourth qualifying round. 🇱🇹🇹🇷
According to Transfermarkt, Beşiktaş’s squad is valued at €237.4 million, while FK Kauno Žalgiris’ squad value doesn’t even reach €10 million.
A massive challenge awaits. 🔥
🇪🇺💪 Congratulations also to NK Celje and their three Lithuanians - Armandas Kučys, Pijus Širvys and Artemijus Tutyškinas! 🇱🇹
UEFA Europa League football is guaranteed, with a chance to go all the way to the Champions League still alive!
🇪🇺🤷♂️ No major surprises…
FK Kauno Žalgiris couldn’t overturn their massive 0:5 deficit, despite finding the back of the net at the Dariaus and Girėnas Stadium.
🇱🇹 What an achievement for coach Valdas Dambrauskas!
His FC Sabah side have reached the fourth and final qualifying round of the Champions League after a convincing 5–2 aggregate victory over Danish champions Aarhus GF.
At least Europa League football is now guaranteed. 👏
🏆 Odds of becoming Lithuanian champions, according to league main sponsor TOPSPORT:
