FPW | Lithium-ion batteries are everywhere, and so is the risk.
🔋 From phones and laptops to e-bikes, power tools and more, they are part of our everyday lives. But when damaged, misused or improperly charged, they can pose a serious fire risk.

FIRE PREVENTION WEEK | That battery isn’t trash. It’s a fire hazard.

Never throw lithium-ion batteries, chargers or battery-powered devices in the regular trash or recycling.

[Fire Marshal's Public Fire Safety Council @FMPFSC]

FPW | Lithium-ion batteries can fail without warning. ⚠️
Thermal runaway is a dangerous chain reaction where one overheating cell can cause surrounding cells to overheat, rapidly releasing heat, toxic gases and intense fire.

🚨 LITHIUM-ION BATTERIES ARE EVERYWHERE, AND THE FIRE RISK IS RISING.

From phones and laptops to e-bikes, e-scooters and other everyday devices, lithium-ion batteries are becoming more common in our lives.

25 years later, we pause to remember those who answered the call on September 11, 2001.

We honour the firefighters, law enforcement officers, paramedics and countless other first responders who put themselves in harm’s way to protect others, many making the ultimate sacrifice.
