'Is that it, or will we see more?'
@MiriamOCal asks new IFA President, Francie Gorman, whether we're likely to see more protests from farmers in the coming weeks.

One of my favourite topics. Our cows! Due to the fact we have a limited land block around the yard to graze cows for the summer, we always calved some cows in the autumn. Dad got a "liquid contract" from Kilkenny Creamery in the early 80s, which subsequently became an Avonmore contract. We've expanded this contract over the years since. Our milk is sold to @TirlanFarmLife for the @Avonmoretaste products. There are very strict quality standards laid down for liquid milk to ensure the end product to the consumer is great quality so people will trust the product they purchase.
Few pointers if spreading fert this week. Match N applications to growth. If growth is halved, half N fert rates, use sulphur and consider K application for water regulation. Huge amount of soil N mineralisation expected following dry weather @Grasslandagro@AgronomistClare
Great to meet @JoannaDonnellyL on the @NDC_ie garden at bloom today. Good lighthearted discussion about farming and the weather. 😁🌞🌧Great job done by NDC demonstrating multi species swards and red clover incorporation on dairy farms #grassrootsmovement
Spotted in Dublin City Centre this morning! If you see our new campaign posters take a pic, tag us + #GrassRootsMovement to spread the word!
Irish Milk 🥛 has one of the lowest carbon footprints in the world, but our dairy farmers are doing even more

Said we would try some of the new @tirlan_ milk with chicory added for fibre ….. the gang here gave it a resounding thumbs up !!! Adding it to the shopping list !!! Well impressed !!! @Avonmoretaste#SuperMilk
You can't expect sustainable food production at rock bottom prices, don't cod yourself. If you want to support farmers buy farmer owned brands of milk - Simple! @IFAmedia
Thomas Ryan, Senior Sustainability Manager at Glanbia Ireland and Jean Colleran, horticulturalist with @countrylifegc , discuss the new Sustainability Action Payment and the actions farmers can undertake to enhance the environmental and economic sustainability of their farms 👍.
Brian Hanafin, Head of Milkpool Development with Glanbia Ireland 🥛, John Wynne, Chair of Fresh Milk Producers and Shane McElroy, Head of Technical Development at Glanbia Ireland kicking things off here at our Future Proofing Year Round Milk Quality Event at UCD Lyons Farm 👍.
Jim Mulhall, Kilkenny, explaining the negative impact on both dairy farmers, and on the environment, caused by the delay in not building necessary milk production facilities.
Using fictitious dairies and creameries is misleading. Despite the legal threat by @lidl_ireland, we won't be deterred from campaigning for dairy farmers.

The recent trend of irish retailers creating brands based on fictional places to increase their profits and reduce irish farmers margin highlighted by @ifamedia in today’s Sunday independent #WhereIsCoolreeCreamery#WhereIsClonbawnIrishDairy
Today marks the launch of our fresh milk campaign. @lidl_ireland and @Aldi_Ireland should state the name of the actual dairy/creamery where they source their milk from, not fictitious dairies and creameries designed to purposefully mislead consumers
