@Massimo_educ307 The same happened for me! I never thought twice about anything in those Disney movies until the documentary! It definitely raised some issues and opened my eyes. Definitely won't watch Disney movies the same way anymore
@EPolychronas Disney was definitely a big part of my life growing up! It is so interesting how they have really analyzed the movies because when I was younger watching it, I never thought anything of it other than that it was a Disney movie
@tregliasamantha I agree! It is so important that both parents and teachers teach them about privacy and the negative long-term consequences that come with not understanding Internet privacy.
@OTangredi I share it with my parents but they don't check it regularly, only if I need help with directions they can see where I am. I think it is a good safety precaution to share my location with my parents
@EPolychronas It is definitely scary to think about! Even if our accounts are made "private", nothing is every really private on the Internet and even if you delete something, it is still there somewhere
Everyone needs to be aware that what you post online is available to the public and can lead to consequences. I think that addition to teaching all the benefits technology has, we should also mention the negative effects and the rules that comes with having an account #Lesson13
@Christinaciri8 I agree! There are many employers who will look at potential candidates' Facebook pages for example which is why we have to be mindful of what we are posting/sharing with the world even if our accounts are private because is anything really that private on the Internet
@OliviaMangano0 I honestly never read it I probably should but most of the time I accept the cookies without actually thinking about what it means. I should definitely think twice before accepting
@Christinaciri8 I honestly have never read them, I have read maybe the first few sentences but I probably should but they make it so long on purpose that we don't even want to spend the time reading 50 + pages.
@MarthaKotso Yes exactly, my school didn't provide WiFi so if we used the computers in the school or iPads, then our activity on the devices were tracked but not to the point where we felt violated.
What do you guys think about restricting students' use of school issued devices and Internet? If you have experienced this, did you feel it was a violation of your privacy or you had no issue with it? #Lesson9
@MarievEduc307 My school would do the exact same thing, although I didn't feel uncomfortable maybe it was the way they went about it, but I could definitely see how you would feel uncomfortable
@OliviaMangano0 I absolutely agree! We could make our Instagram profiles private for only our followers, but then one of them could screenshot and share with those who don't follow you. We may think we have privacy even on our social media platform, but we really don't
@OliviaMangano0 This is so true, I always talk about this! I could be talking about sushi and then go on my phone and see ads for sushi. We may think we have privacy, but realistically I don't believe we have full online privacy.
