After 35 seasons, I am saddened to report that Friday Night Finals will not be on the air this fall. A changing media landscape has made it impossible to continue the show in 2023. While the FNF team hopes to return in 2024, time will tell. /1

Saddened to hear Friday Night Finals, an Oklahoma institution for 35 years is calling it quits..The show was a pioneer and a constant companion of traveling fans long before every score was accessible with a click of the button..Just another sign of the changing times in media 🥲

Absolutely gutted to share this news. Friday Night Finals has been an integral part of my fall Friday nights since 1998. I will always cherish the friendships I made along the way. It has been an honor to a be part of the grand tradition of Oklahoma high school football.

Our affiliate stations and sponsors also made the show possible, reaching throughout the state every Friday night. Finally, our listeners made this happen by listening on the way home from ballgames in their cars, team busses and by calling in scores and reports for many years. 7

It’s the equivalent of three safeties in a football game.

[Joel Reagan @joelontheradio]

Bring on the shot clock! @FNFOkla alum @lawdogsports was on the call for this "offensive" battle.

We are thrilled the OSSAA has entrusted us to host the 11-man state championships for 2023-27 and we are already looking forward to making it a great event for the state of Oklahoma, its communities, and football fans.
