This gives the lie to the frequent claim of Reform supporters that they don't mind immigrants who assimilate and contribute to British society. In fact, they object to their presence full stop, doubly so if they happen not to be white. Count on Goodwin to say the quiet part loud.
I do think the prime minister being forced to resign simply for being very unpopular, rather than as a result of any specific scandal, or policy disaster, sets a terrible precedent. If Burnham's numbers nosedive, which they will, what will be the case for him remaining in office?
Bromley in League One and Palace winning a European final. Complete madness. If England win the World Cup then I’ll probably have to give up watching football and take up fishing or archery or something.
@MashStPaddy@bromleywithlove The unjustified last minute winner that was probably offside, and the delirium/embitteredness that you feel, is part of the game. Case in point being Gills’ equaliser vs us in September. As gutting as that was, I’d never trade that in to have VAR ruin the lower league game.
@MashStPaddy@bromleywithlove You also can’t celebrate a goal properly if you’ve got to wait 5 minutes to check if it’s allowed. It kills the atmosphere stone dead. I’ve been to Palace a couple of times and watching a screen waiting for the ref to announce the decision was like watching Gladiators. It sucks.
Didn't take many pictures yesterday as I just wanted to soak it all in.
From Isthmian Division One South to League One.
What a journey. Another promotion to store in my memory bank.
I love this football club.
@MashStPaddy@colinhead70 Agreed. I was really quite surprised at how slack we were defensively, particularly in the second half picking up their runs down our right hand side. They could’ve had a few. We definitely need reinforcements!
‘I asked Grok, I asked Chat GPT’ ok well I asked the Federal member for the North Queensland seat of Kennedy, Bob Katter and he said I ain't spending any time on it because in the meantime, every three months, a person is torn to pieces by a crocodile in North Queensland
@Layo_FH All well and good planning New Towns but you need *at least* a decade to *start* delivering them and the gumption to stand your ground against political opponents who’ll base their campaigns against it. That relies on not behaving like your majority is 8 when actually it’s 148…
@Layo_FH The problem IMP is that a lot of the fundamental issues (ie housing delivery) will take at least two, if not three or four election cycles to really see tangible change, even with focussed and informed policy making. Governments don’t really look beyond the current term.
