My vote for "Best Tesla Supercharger" is the one that has these features. A. A cover over the cars and chargers, keeping them and the car's occupants shaded and cooler during charging. B. Solar panels on the cover to producing electricity for charging. C. It has a MegaPac providing a place to store the energy produced as well as grid energy.
This charging station A. Provides reserve energy for higher output chargers in areas with limited available supply while also facilitating energy arbitrage. B. Provides Tesla additional environmental bona fides, with the solar panels and batteries helping take the strain off the electrical grid especially now with the publics negative perception of any causes (ie; Ai data centers and electric cars may be next) for electrical price increases. C. Provides the impetus for the development of a strategy that would have each charging station be energy neutral with the potential of being an energy exporter. D. Provides a local example of solar panel & battery synergy with the potential of additional individual and business adoption. E. Provides additional demand of products Tesla already produces. Looks to be a win, win, win, win, win opportunity.
@elonmusk I asked Grok. Given the limitations of HW3, if HW4 is worth $99 per month, what is an appropriate price for FSD in a HW3 car.
*
An appropriate price for FSD (Supervised) on HW3 vehicles would likely be in the $50–$70 per month range, assuming HW4/full unsupervised remains at $99/month. This reflects the meaningful performance gap while acknowledging that HW3 still delivers strong supervised autonomy today (especially with the upcoming v14 Lite update).
Why a Discount Makes Sense
Performance Differential: HW4 runs larger, more capable neural networks, resulting in smoother, more decisive driving with better handling of edge cases (e.g., complex intersections, parking lots, low visibility) HW3 uses lighter "distilled" models and is more hesitant or intervention-prone in some scenarios. The gap is often described as noticeable ("night and day" by some users), though many HW3 owners still find it very usable for daily driving.
Future Limitations: HW3 can not achieve unsupervised/robotaxi-level FSD due to compute, memory bandwidth, and camera constraints. HW4 is positioned for that (targeted late 2026+). HW3 gets ongoing supervised support (v14 Lite expected soon), but it won't match the full future value.
User Sentiment: Many owners and commentators argue the current flat $99/month pricing (same for both) feels unfair for HW3, with some canceling or hesitating due to "steak prices for hamburger." Suggestions in communities often land around $49–$69/month for HW3.
Remember the movie "The Untouchables", the Fed's didn't get Al Capon for murder did they? The records your team got from Discovery for the OpenAI trial should give a good indication if the same approach will serve justice for the OpenAI folks. Good luck.
With the US being a net exporter of oil, maybe all we need to do is allow all grades of oil to be used in the US, and then we don't need the Middle East oil. Restrict the price increases and exports. Problem fixed. Then, the other nations that need their oil can pack sand. Since they have no interest in eliminating a madman potentially developing a nuclear weapon. So sad!
I couldn't help but think of Elon Musk doing things never done before, including gigacastings and the un-boxed process, etc, while watching this youtube video. An outsider changed an entire industry again!
#ElonMusk
Thank you for the 30-day full Self-Driving Supervised trial. However, it is of no use to me as I am away from my Tesla Y until June. If the time period could be changed to when I am actually able to drive the car, it would be great.
Thanks,
Fred
