A few thoughts for FPL managers following the Arsenal vs Coventry game:
๐ด Tzolis looks VERY productive. 4 shots and 3 chances created. Heโll probably keep getting the odd early subs, but if he nails down that left wing slot heโs gonna be great value at ยฃ6.5m.
๐ด Calafiori clearly the pick of the non-Gabriel defenders if you can handle the minutes risk. Picking up some dangerous central positions and constantly calling for the ball.
๐ด รdegaard is back to his best looking at this game and the Community Shield. Box crashing. Heโll score more soon.
๐ต Thomas looks like heโs gonna be a defcon machine. 6 clearances alone in that game, a continuation of his pre-season numbers.
๐ต Rushworth with a big mistake, but I wouldnโt worry too much about him getting dropped. He was Covโs POTS last year, and Coventry fans are confident one game against the champions wonโt impact his spot.
Overall itโs difficult to fully judge either team, since there was a clear skill mismatch. Every trend must start somewhere, though!
โญ๏ธ Summary of ARS v COV opening game โญ๏ธ
1. Tzolis : Looks like the real deal, absolute workhorse, high press, 1v1 take ons, low crosses into the box so often, most touches in the opposition box in the game (8)
Most shots in the game (4), created 3 chances as well, a steal at ยฃ6.5m if he keeps his place which he should
2. Saka : Held the width well but also made runs in the opposition box, 6 touches in the opp box, 7 defcons also took 5 corners and scored a goal
3. Odegaard : Looks more agile, athletic and pacy than last season
Could be a very good 2nd Arsenal attacker in your FPL team, scored a goal created 3 chances. Him, White and Saka overloaded the right side with Odegaard and white made underlapping runs when Saka held the width
4. Calafiori : Get him in till the iron his hot, this is the best time to get him, looks the most attacking Arsenal defender overloading the left wing with Tzolis, held the width more often while allowing Tzolis to make runs
Got an assist, was taken off at 81' for Hincapie but Calafiori will be fine till atleast the international break or the till the UCL starts
5. White : Most ignoring him coz of his injury concerns but i think he is a fine fine pick till we see timber, I would say he has the least direct competition for his spot out of him Mosquera and Calafiori
White had an assist, created 2 chances and had the joint most touches in the game with 94
Made a lot of underlapping runs with Odegaard simultaneously while Saka stayed out wide
5. Gabriel : This may seem like massive hindsight coz it's just the first game and it's Coventry but ยฃ8m is a huge price tag which he may not justify this season
I don't see another 200 point season from him and i am ready to take my chances whenever i get in picking the Arsenal defenders for ยฃ2.5m cheaper with better upside but obviously less xMins
Winning a PL title i think has also helped them take the immense pressure off them, they look to be playing more freely since the community shield
Their man and more direct attacking output has been coming from the right side with Saka, Odegaard and White
Dominik Szoboszlai can contribute in attack and defence ๐

Best Deadline Day tips for GW1 โ
1. Calafiori and Tzolis are the best Arsenal picks for the start of the season. Gabriel is the best option but very costly for now.
2. Kinsky + Verbruggen are the best keepers to start with.
3. Bruno, Mbeumo and Shaw are the best United options. Bruno is the clear captaincy option with Mbeumo also a great pick for the opening GWs
4. Isak is one of our favourite forwards and a player we definitely want to own. If you don't go Haaland, we would strongly consider building around Isak
5. Morgan Gibbs-White is a great differential and someone we are very interested in starting with. He offers a nice way to move away from the more template midfield picks
6. Thiago is a great option and for us a better pick than DCL despite DCL's excellent pre-season.
7. Schade is another cheap midfielder we really like and can provide the budget flexibility needed elsewhere in the squad
8. Muharemovic is a great defender pick at his price and an amazing enabler at 5M.
9. Pedro is the only Chelsea player we are interested in starting with. We would keep Palmer and Rogers in the watchlist and keep a keen eye on them.
10. We would skip Liverpool and Chelsea defence for time being and monitor them going forward.
11. We are not keen on Szoboszlai as a starting pick. At his price, we would prefer other midfield options and don't think he is essential for GW1
12. Ndiaye is also a great option and part of our GW1 squad.
A few tips for GW1 โ
1. Calafiori, White, Tzolis is the best Arsenal triple up till GW3, Raya and Gabriel obviously the most secure
2. Bruno the best captaincy option by far, Mbeumo the 2nd best midfielder for the first 2GWs
3. I'm not very bullish on Sunderland even with the 3 good fixtures
4. DCL is the 4th best forward to own after Haaland, JP, Isak but also the best cheap forward option
5. I like Muharemovic, Rodon as defender picks but don't expect extraordinary things from them
6. Thiago is a very underrated option, if you don't go Haaland i would pick both Thiago and Isak in my team
7. Schade and Dango both are good cheap midfielders
8. I wouldn't go Vuskovic to start the season. Hinshelwood, Groร, Gomez in that order for the Brighton mid picks
9. I would skip the man city defence for the time being
10. No Haaland strategy is viable but extremely risky
11. Mbeumo, Wirtz, Semenyo, Szoboszlai in that order for the popular midfield picke
12. I would skip the Liverpool defence too
13. I still prefer Wirtz for 0.5m more than Szoboszlai
14. Don't ruin your team structure to fit in Isak and Haaland both, just go with 1 of them
15. Joao Pedro or no one from Chelsea at the moment, best entry point for their players is GW4
