Thirty minutes into the first Premier League game of the season, and Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo is racially abused by someone in the crowd.
Two nights ago, Tottenham’s Mathys Tel was racially abused online. This is a stark reminder of an ugly reality: black players are facing this every week.
We stand in solidarity with Antoine and can’t praise him enough for his courage in calling this out after such a distressing episode before going on to score twice.
Anthony Taylor and his refereeing team also deserve credit for acting swiftly and decisively.
We will keep pushing to kick this disgusting behaviour out of the game through punishments, accountability and education, but football still has a long way to go.
Limestreet. Feds laughing in the face of a 4yr old child going blue who couldn’t breathe because they was bottlenecking fans to the windows and refusing to open the other fucking doors. When is this going to end. Share this about
Absolutely disgraceful queue system at Liverpool Lime Street. Thousands and thousands dangerously trapped outside with no functional queue system and my train has left almost completely empty because nobody is funneled correctly. Complete failure of planning and management.
@nationalrailenq No queuing system at Lime Street. Why do you insist there is? We need solutions, not just corporate nice words that you’re ‘doing everything we can and can understand the frustration’ 😔
Police at lime street were an absolute joke! Pushed and shoved fans, had them cornered in a very tight path using big fences, should be absolutely ashamed of themselves.
Just got home now at 1am after trying to leave Liverpool at 6pm.
The level of incompetence shown by Liverpool city council and everyone handling the Lime Street incident was disgraceful… 🤬
Lime Street was fucking chaos today. Police, Hang your heads in SHAME. Leaving THOUSANDS out in the cold rain and telling them to go to the next entry to queue is dangerous. Nobody can get home because of the awful management and funnelling
I’ve been back in and out of town picking stranded people up, Hope Street is clear and good for pick ups.. If anyone else can get out and help in cars please do so, town is full of people stuck that just want to get home 🙏🏽 #YNWA#Liverpool#LiverpoolParade
@taggysbar@Ann Compiling a list of everyone who is still offering help or still needs help getting home from Lime Street or the City center - any shares or RTs appreciated
