It’s only been 5 weeks so far, but I think these stats are quite a good gauge to see just how heavily players are involved with their respective teams.
Of course penalty takers who have had a penalty so far will receive a boost from that, but I guess that is only another good indicator of points potential.
Thanks for reading! Hopefully some interesting numbers here!
📊 Most Shots on Target after the first 5 games
Saka: 9 (12 in box)
Tavernier: 8 (8 in box)
Joshua King: 7 (11 in box)
Mbeumo: 6 (14 in box)
Schade: 6 (12 in box)
Kluivert: 6 (6 in box)
Palmer: 5 (12 in box)
Joshua King 👀
Play all 3 promoted teams in his next 3 games.

Here are the best DEFCON opponents so far for Centre backs!
👉🏻CB hit rate and average DCs against each team
The perfect DEFCON opposition is one that has a lower chance of scoring but a higher chance of hitting DEFCON!

Another small red arrow, but no regrets about the Wildcard. My pre-Wildcard team would’ve scored even less.
Groß punished me again, although predicting a goal + assist against Arsenal was always going to be tough.

Gvardiol is an interesting one from GW7
The PL fixtures are excellent:
IPS – AVL – BHA – NFO – FUL
But look at City’s schedule:
7 games in 20 days
I’m not convinced Gvardiol starts every PL game in that run.
Great fixtures, but the minutes risk is very real. 🤔
#FPL
Muharemović has been one of my favourite picks since the Wildcard. 👀
Last 2 GWs:
🛡️ 11 + 8 DefCon
🎯 1 assist
⚡ 0.41 xG in GW6
Meanwhile, Leeds recorded just 0.88 & 0.74 xG.
A £5.0m defender with a strong DefCon floor and attacking upside.
Very happy with this one.
From GW10 Bournemouth’s fixture run improves and stays attractive for a long stretch.
That makes Silva interesting as a potential set-and-forget defender, rather than someone you constantly need to rotate.
For me, he also looks like an excellent Hall replacement in a few GWs.
Antonio Silva is firmly on my FPL radar.
Bournemouth currently rank 5th for xGC, despite already conceding 7 goals vs 5.30 xGC.
Silva is already 5th among defenders for defensive contributions and the best Bournemouth defender.
The fixtures are the really interesting part…
@KenzBroms The team looks pretty strong to me, so I wouldn’t use a transfer in this situation.
If you brought in Wissa, for example, who would you bench?
No Free Hit panic for me.
With Joao Pedro on my bench, I don’t see the point in using a transfer just to sell him now, only to spend another transfer bringing him back in a couple of GWs.
The rest of the team looks strong enough to ride this one out.
I’m holding.

🛡️ DEFCON STATS SHEET GW1-4 🛡️
🛡️ Brentford MIDs continue to lead the chart
🔥 Just 4 players have hit 50+ DEFCONs: Egan, Janelt, Scott & Muharemovic
❌ No player has hit DEFCONs vs Hull across 4 GWs

Palace especially
One of last season’s best defences now has the league’s worst xGC.
Newcastle’s next 4: HUL, COV, AVL, CRY - so I’d expect their numbers to improve.
Plenty of attacking targets here.
Some interesting defensive numbers after 4 GWs:
Newcastle have conceded the most shots (76) and rank 3rd for xGC (7.55), despite their defenders being some of the most popular FPL picks.
But Palace (8.15), Villa (7.65) and Fulham (7.51) are even bigger red flags. 👇🏻🧵

Not the start I wanted after the Wildcard, but overall I’m still happy with the team.
Missing Brighton players hurt this GW, but their fixture run is about to turn, with plenty of difficult games coming up.

Timing is everything in FPL.
Groß & De Cuyper are among the most transferred-in after Brighton’s 5-0 win.
Totally understandable… but:
ARS - SUN - CRY - LIV - MCI
Great players. Great form.
Maybe just the wrong time to buy.
I called White the weak spot in my Wildcard and he got injured in the first game.
So now the plan is pretty clear: White ➡️ Timber, either after GW5 or GW6.
Arsenal play Brighton away in GW5, and I don’t think I necessarily need a third Arsenal defender for that one.
Wildcard activated.
Triple Arsenal defence is the plan, but White is probably the weak spot - once Timber is fully fit, I expect his minutes to take a hit.
Still, I see more potential in Timber than Raya long-term.
Barry & King tempted me with their underlying numbers.

Budget picks with some really interesting underlying numbers
I’ve been looking at the best options around £5.0–£5.9m, and there are some very interesting picks here.
A quick look at the stats, fixtures and rotation risk.
🧵👇
#FPL#FPLCommunity
Le Fée £5.9m
Interesting numbers, especially creatively, and already has a goal.
But at £5.9m, I’m not sure he offers enough over the cheaper options.
Europa League rotation is another concern.
Probably the weakest option of this group for me.
Alex Scott £5.0m
More of an enabler than an explosive pick.
1G + 2A already, but only 4 shots and 0 in the box.
I like him for the price, but the underlying attacking numbers are clearly weaker than the options above.
