£8.5m for Spurs’ starting goalkeeper and his backup. 🔒👀
With Vicario out and listed for transfer…
Is this the easiest goalkeeper decision of the season? 🤔 #FPL
🚨✍️I don’t understand the rush to own Palmer.
Chelsea’s opening fixtures:
🆚 Fulham
🆚 Brighton
🆚 Arsenal
You’re basically betting on one good return in GW1. If he blanks, many managers will start questioning the pick.
I’d rather start with Bruno + João Pedro, then move to Palmer later if:
✅ He’s in form.
✅ Bruno isn’t delivering.
You’ll also have the extra budget to upgrade elsewhere, like bringing in a premium defender.
Am I missing something, or is patience the better play? 🤔

🚨 One stat every #FPL manager should see… 🤯
Most shots by defenders last season:
🥇 Neco Williams (46)
🥈 O’Reilly (41)
🥉 Hume (34)
4️⃣ Guehi, Pedro Porro & Calafiori (32)
Most shots inside the box:
🥇 O’Reilly (33)
🥈 Guehi (30)
🥉 Mosquera (28) (wol)
4️⃣ Virgil van Dijk (27)
👀 Here’s what these numbers tell us:
🇳🇿 Neco Williams – Wing-back, gets into the box regularly and takes some set pieces. The only concern is Forest’s opening fixtures.
⭐ Hume – Played both at full-back and on the wing. A brilliant budget pick if he keeps the advanced role.
🔵 Guehi – Huge threat from set pieces, excellent DefCon, and Man City won the most corners last season.
🔴 Virgil van Dijk – 6 goals last season, elite DefCon, and even more appealing if Liverpool improve defensively.
💎 O’Reilly – Often plays like a second striker. Massive upside if he’s fit and nailed.
🔴 Calafiori – Outstanding shooting numbers despite only 22 starts. Could be one of the bargains of the season.
⚪ Pedro Porro – On set pieces, constantly attacks, and Spurs’ defence could improve this year.
📈 Defenders could be the biggest source of value in FPL this season if you identify the right ones early.

⭐️ ✍️ My favourite £5m defenders right now: ✅
⭐️ Vušković – 12.1 DEFCON per game + 6 goals in 28 matches.
⭐️ Neco Williams – 150 open-play crosses. A true wing-back under Glasner.
⭐️ Jacquet – Looks nailed in Liverpool’s defence.
⭐️ Van Hecke – Elite DEFCON option in a strong Spurs defence.
⭐️ Maguire – 8.2 DEFCON/90 + a big threat from set pieces.

Tel is quietly building a strong case. 👀
✅ Goal + assist in his last two pre-season games.
✅ Finished last season as a starter under De Zerbi after Simons’ injury.
If Tottenham don’t bring in another winger, he could be one to watch for GW1.

✍️Early in the season, I value fixtures, secure minutes, and flexibility more than anything else.
There are cheaper players with better opening fixtures who have every chance of matching or even outscoring Palmer over the first three Gameweeks.
If Foden hits form, City’s fixture run gives him huge upside. Cunha also has the potential to deliver multiple attacking returns early on.
That’s why I still believe starting with Bruno over Palmer makes more sense. You can always move to Palmer later if he proves essential, while keeping enough budget to strengthen other areas of your squad.

🔷 Regan Slater (Hull City)
✅ 35 starts
⚽ 2 Goals
🅰️ 2 Assists
Most-started £4.5m midfielder last season.
A defensive midfielder, but if Hull don’t sign another player in his position, he should remain a solid budget enabler
💬 Any other £4.5m midfielders worth considering?
🚨 Jacquet (£5.0m) 👀
✅ Expected to partner Van Dijk.
✅ Set to start Liverpool’s final pre-season game vs Leeds.
🟢 Excellent opening fixtures.
💰 £1.5m cheaper than Van Dijk and could be one of the best value defenders for GW1.
