In case you run across this:
We live in depressing times. I thought gamer Twitter would be a fun timeline, but there’s as much vitriol here as anywhere else.
So let me say I love all my fellow gamers: @PlayStation, @xbox, PC.
Hope you have fun wherever and whatever you play.
@MJcantmiss@Genki_JPN Even if true, at least you can lend that code on a disk to a friend, or resell that code on a disk, and you can buy used codes on discs.
@Genki_JPN So then they are still going to go through retailers… I thought the main issue with going all digital was they didn't want to give a 30% cut of sales to retailers. Maybe this is just I half step in that direction. First no discs, then nothing at all...
@unrealpathan It really looks like the camera for her plate was locked down, placed close to her with a 28 mm or wider lens. And just left like that. Then the effects people did a simple fade-in of the plate and did a basic animation to scale up but the starting point was WAY too big.
@unrealpathan She's like 3x bigger than everyone in the crowd put together! That's crazy. Just shrink the green screened plate of her down more when she's supposed to be locating at the cave enterence. Then key frame her larger! Did they even do a camera push in on the green screen plate?
@Genki_JPN Sounds like another step to prevent reselling. I think everyone would have redeemed the code within at most seven days if they bought it for themselves.
But if reselling, your listing could be up for weeks. And if the buyer wants to re-resell, they have even less time.
@YourAnonOne "or as a download code inside a box at a shop."
They'll still have games at physical retailers? Right now they have to give retailers a 30% cut. How much will it be when it's just a code?
I thought THE issue was the 30% retail cut.
@CyberVapor1978@IGN Theaters are sold out. My showing was sold out and there was a line to get into the next show when I came out. Prove Thearters are empty for it.
@amelia_tweetz They're making bank from YouTube ads, Youtube paid subscriptions, Android Mobile ads (not the phone sales themselves), licensing fees, they monetize personal information...
I'm still buying physical whenever possible what what's the deal with this? $65/digital, $81/physical?
I guess that's the 30% Sony has to give to Amazon...
And sadly, all the used copies I can find on eBay say the codes were used already - so what's the point of the Deluxe?!
@_Deez_Games So they haven't yet decided to make all controls be on-screen controls only like those found on the PS Remote App? An app that I can totally see them requiring a monthly subscription to access...?
@valuetainment Plus, I don't agree with having to pay extra to access online multiplayer. I didn't have to on my Mac! PC players don't have to! Why do console players have to?
@valuetainment I think I'm just the right amount of obsessed, thank you very much.
If you like multiplayer that's awesome. But I can't stand the toxicity; the racism, sexism, cheaters. I want no part of any of that.
@lostinininind@LilithLovett I love the controller so much but it's true, I have four of them and I'll have some kind of issue. Stick drift or one of the symbol buttons intermittently going out to controllers were new, and the other two bought used at GameStop.
@LilithLovett I know! A physical controller is "unfortunately" something the consumer could keep forever; even lend, or SELL it to someone, and Sony wouldn't see any profits - "tragic"!
Make controls touchscreen; software based, so Sony can ban players from pressing buttons!
@PauseMidnight@EpicNNG Dang, that's awesome you see all of your stats like that. On the PlayStation app it only shows trophies and the amount of hours you played.
