"Perhaps you should reserve your friendship for the hard of dying then."
It's hard to measure if that's some sardonic joke, or if she's being deathly serious. Speaking so bluntly, with a cold undertone to her words.
Bright, ruby eyes gazing, almost tiredly.
❝Not many people would admit this but-- I don't really have many 'friends'. You don't really get to make them in my line of work.
And those that you do make--
Well, they tend to die quickly.❞
Unfortunately, I do not care for contact lenses.
. . . I've poked my eyes too many times.
( It's almost comical, saying something like that with the quiet, cold tone of voice she normally has. )
oh. . i see. . i thought you would have picked the second option which is the quickest one. and you would have been able to earn trust slowly while avoiding the "abnormal" barrier. .
hmm. . .
"Perhaps . . . once we've had our share of enjoying the spoils."
As she says that, Erysia leaned forward, taking a piece of the jerky meat. Beginning to teethe on it with a soft hum of enjoyment.
"It may make a lovely way to relax some more, before turning in, no?"
"I'm happy to hear you're enjoying yourself dear"
Selene smiled as she reached back over gently patting Erysia on top of her head
She was enjoying their time together as well, it had been far too long since she was just able to sit and talk with someone at length even if +
Generating frost upon her gloved palm, watching it with tired gaze, fragments of flurry dancing about. Only for the dance to end abruptly, hand and palm closed decisively.
"Thank you again, I'll certainly continue to chase the warmth from the alcohol."
Going for another sip as she does, just about needing another refill herself.
". . . It truly is nice."
"Fascinating." Her intrigue is brief, but genuine. Erysia moving to again fill Selene's glass, returning it to her for her enjoyment in soon enough time.
This was, a most comfortable night. It almost makes that traveling of hers feel so distant.
A lovely reprieve. (+)
"well my specialty is obviously healing, but it should apply to other types"
Giving a little demonstration Selene held out her hand, using a bit of fire magic a small flame would appear in her hand
"While I can't cast massive fireballs or grand illusions, efficacy of magic +
The former would be feasible, were I to truly spend long enough in one place. Some people just aren't . . . receptive to what's "abnormal".
As for the latter . . .
( She seems to grow quiet, before just as quietly clearing her chest. )
I'm not fond of them.
is that so ? ohhhh maybe because red eyes often are seen on vampire.
so i guess i can understand their point of view. hmm. . . i can only think of two ways :
first is to be friendly and earn trust with time or you can try using contact lens to hide the red color.
"You'd never hear me complain, on that note."
A breathy chuckle slithers free, with ruby eyes combing over Selene's body in quiet admiration.
A nice view indeed . . . Refocusing, Erysia leans closer, taking Selene's glass carefully. "Mm. Shall I fill your cup again, Selene?"
"I would not be opposed. My magickal know-how is . . . unstable, at best."
While she has been around for quite some time, it remains she carries more knowledge than know-how. Unless it concerned her curse, and her affinity for frost and its applications. (+)
"perhaps I could teach you a few tricks I have picked up, though it may be difficult just describing how"
It's true Selene doesn't have difficulty speaking and is comfortable speaking with strangers
"Other than to tease you a bit there wouldn't be much reason to peak in, +
". . . On the matter of baths, I could imagine far worse eyes to earn."
She remarks, swirling the lingering leftover of her current cup. "Perhaps I would not have yours, but it is *your* home, after all. Who am I to stop you, were you to get . . . impish."
"No, I do not mind at all. I quite enjoy the reason to listen to your voice."
That, and it remained that, between the two of them, Selene was better at conversation. Though Erysia had gained comfort enough at least with Selene.
It still remained Erysia was used to solitude. (+)
"at least here nobody is able to sneak a peak at you"
She had to make a little joke, of course Selene enjoyed her baths as well especially with a drink to really relax those old bones of hers
"I'm happy you don't mind me rambling on about magic, it is one of the few things I +
“I am crudely magically learned; so I admit, listening to you talk more and more on this … it’s nice.”
Mind you, Selene has learned rather unpractically as well. Though Erysia still considered the healer her better in this regard of knowledge.
“Oh I intend to. Such warmth, without risk of drawing attention … It would be quite nice.”
She liked her baths, for one, it was an easy means of tremendously helping with the chronic chill in her body. At least for a time.
A long sip of her own taken, listening contently. (+)
"no thanks needed dear. Of course you're welcome to use the bath anyways"
Selene smiled before taking a long drink
"You're correct about other schools of magic manipulate the body as well"
The healer could easily talk Erysia's ear off about how magic affects the body, it is +
