how to get into EDM without rich parents:
-work a part time job & save up for a laptop & DAW (some offer discounts for students)
-snag a cheap usb controller, learn to DJ
-Practice CDJs at guitar center for free
-Learn music theory & production via Youtube
-dont give up
-have fun

Here's a tip for you new music makers: Learn about Melody. I feel like a lot of people in general now regard music with chords 'Melodic'. A Melody is a tune, something you can sing along too. 4 chords and a side chain isn't melodic. Study the art of melody and you will do well.
