A regular hangout spot for mid-1900s scientists in the Cavendish Laboratory (@DeptofPhysics), the Eagle pub is where James Watson and Francis Crick famously declared they had "discovered the secret of life" — more commonly known as DNA. The Eagle is also one of the latest stops for our @FloridaState Biology in London program students!
While in Cambridge, a city just north of London, students visited iconic @Cambridge_Uni labs, including those of Watson and Crick as well as Frederick Sanger, who determined the structure of insulin, and Howard Florey, a key agent in penicillin's development. Students also toured CU's Pembroke College (@pembroke1347) and its chapel.

We're checking back in with our students in @FloridaState's Biology in London program, who just visited @florencemuseum, located right across the river from Big Ben! https://t.co/j4f7ftqvNb #FSUGlobal
While venturing to one place, you may just find another! On their way to the Alexander Fleming Laboratory Museum (@medicalmuseums) — the birthplace of antibiotics — students in @FloridaState's Biology in London Program found the Wild Table of Love (@GillieandMarc), a public sculpture inviting onlookers to sit down with some of the world's most endangered animals. Students also visited the water pump famously identified by physician John Snow as a source of cholera in 1854.
