The first step to a beautiful marriage is respect:
Expect less, respect more.
The second is tolerance:
If you tolerate, you will never hate.
The third is appreciation.
Show appreciation, it will strengthen affection.
A Muslims way:
"I wanted something desperately.
So I:
- increased my dhikr of the Kalimah.
- I abandoned sins.
- I made lots of istighfār & cried before Allāh.
- I recited 1000s of ṣalawāt upon the Prophet ﷺ.
- I begged Allāh in duʿāʾ.
Then I got much better than expected."
2️⃣ Conceal your bounty when appropriate.
Not every blessing needs to be broadcast.
The less your favours are exposed to unnecessary attention, the less they become a target for jealousy, envy, and the evil eye.
Privacy is also a blessing.
Amongst the greatest harms of sins are:
- Being deprived of performing Tahajjud prayers
- Not enjoying the sweetness and presence when reciting the Qur’ān
- Finding it difficult to cry in duʿā’
- Feeling distant from Allāh
- Falling into other sins
- Being unable to perform good
When a person trusts Allāh, his ‘HOW’ changes to ‘WHO’
He will not worry on ‘how’ his work will get done, he will know ‘who’ will assist him.
He will not be concerned ‘how’ he will earn, he will know ‘who’ will provide for him.
Some people become wealthy through the small charity they give daily.
Others are granted abundance through spending on their families on the day of 'Āshūrā.
Then there are those blessed with wealth through spending on their animals during the days of 'Uḍhiyah.
Salawat
اللهم صل وسلم وبارك على سيدنا محمد وعلى آله وصحبه وبارك وسلم تسليما كثيرا كثيرا
I was discussing with the final year students the other day about the virtues of Salawat as the hadith on the virtues of Salawat came in our hadith lesson. I asked them, “What is one of the greatest rewards of sending Salawat upon the Prophet sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam in this world?" Numerous responses were given. I then told the students what I feel in my humble and weak opinion is one of the greatest rewards in this world; Allah the Almighty does for you what He did for the Prophet sallallahu ‘alayhi wasllam. You will become almost a replica of the Prophet sallallahu ‘alayhi wasllam without Prophethood or becoming on the same level as the Prophet himself, of course.
What I mean by this is that you will notice your character improving and heading closer to the character of the Prophet sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam, you will notice your worship improving and heading closer to the worship of the Prophet sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam, you will notice your life improving and heading closer to the life of the Prophet sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam.
You’ll also notice that Allah the Almighty gives you some of the bounties that He gave to the Prophet sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam; that includes respect, honour, dignity, resilience, strength, courage and much more. You’ll notice less people attacking you and you’ll notice that those who attack you are not given much attention. You’ll notice people naturally developing a love in their heart for you and you’ll realise your influence is a lot greater.
I had this interesting observation which I don’t know if it’s true, but those who read abundant Salawat upon the Prophet sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam, it is possible that their appearance and even facial expressions become closer to the appearance and facial expressions of the Prophet sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam. Potentially even the smell of their body could begin to resemble a fraction of the blessed bodily fragrance of the Prophet sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam. Allah knows best about this one, but it is possible.
Of course, no one despite the amount of Salawat will reach the status of the Prophet sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam, but because you’re constantly sending Salawat upon Allah the Almighty’s greatest creation, Allah the Almighty will give you some of the blessings that He gave to His greatest creation.
While none of the above is explicitly mentioned as the direct virtue of Salawat, the indications are all there.
And Allah knows best.
A PRESS STATEMENT | Continuing Struggle: Challenging Attempts to De-Legitimise Palestinian Solidarity
One need not choose between caring for South Africa's poor and standing with Palestine. It is not a political position. This is a logical trap, camouflaged in the language of concern for the vulnerable, designed to manufacture communal discord and silence dissent.

When we truly depend only on Allāh and turn to Him above all else, our relationships also become better, because we stop expecting people to carry burdens that only Allāh can carry.
My rizq is from Allāh. Your rizq is from Allāh.
Allah Ta‘ala sends rizq in miraculous ways.
If you reflect, you will realize there were many things you received without ever understanding how Allāh made it reach you.
Place your trust in Allāh. Just trust Him.
