@DP_into@Leecosgrove10 I do get that, but then equally, forcing someone inside even though they're on they're strong side (as a defender), the attacker will be too if they're inverting, and then they're being invited into a higher xG zone, where they're more likely to be able to get a shot off
@DP_into@Leecosgrove10 *is in the wrong position, and can only show inside. Then the opposition all they need to do is invert the opposite full back with their double pivot and their 10 (say they're 4-2-3-1) and they've got a +1
@DP_into@Leecosgrove10 I do hear that, but then with the level of opposition analysis around at the higher levels, even my level, all it takes is the analysts to work out the fullbacks are wrong footed, and then play the system where the wingers take down the line and fbs overlap etc then the defender
It's here. Episode 4 of No Man's Land: The Volunteers.
This one is about the people who keep clubs alive. Featuring the team of volunteers at White Ensign FC, with a particular light on Alan Day: 92 years old, at the club since 1955, and a volunteer for longer than most players careers.
This is for the ones who do it for the love of the game!

Clubs in non league run on people who open the gates, run the club houses and deliver on the never ending list of behind the scenes essentials.
Week after week. Year after year. Some of them for nearly 70 years.
Take them away and there's no game.
This Thursday, we shine a well deserved light on those key people: No Man's Land. Episode 4. The Volunteers.
Coming this Thursday.

A year ago today Billy Vigar died playing football because of a concrete wall barrier at a football pitch playing for Chichester City. This was not the first death or serious injury from such barriers, but the FA ignored coroner reports and concerns raised.
It's taken this tragedy for the FA to get its finger out and recommend such barriers are removed. Fair play to the Premier League for helping with funding (and the FA, with £281m sitting in its bank account too) but it is still too late for grieving parents and loved ones, and shows a strange set of priorities for the governing body.

9 out of 10 kids say the main reason they play sport is to have fun.
Winning matters.
Of course it does.
But is the entire youth football environment built around results, tables, selections, and adult approval?

Lowestoft Town FC has a proud history, and is a hugely important part of the fabric of the community of Lowestoft itself. As we approach our 140th year, the club is seeking to renovate our ground to match modern standards. We also have significant debts which have built up over the past few years, and they now threaten the very existence of the club.
We are entirely run by volunteers, and the club reinvests any profits back into the development our various teams. Without urgent investment, the long-term future of our proud club is in doubt. We aim to raise funds to clear as many of our existing debts as possible, and at the same time devote funds to rejuvenating our facilities for the benefit of our fans and our visitors.
