@maithonis@ModernVintageG@krikzz That's without special hardware. We could of course cheat and piggy-back on our PCB with it's MCU (similar to MegaDoom using the Everdrive's FPGA), but that would be kinda 😏
@maithonis@ModernVintageG@krikzz It will be slow and ugly at first, but that's how most ports start.. then you can start to improve speed, add sound, find ways to introduce more colors (palettes you can control/wrote from the 68k) .. also adding the Doom HUD and weapon animations with quite some colors is easy.
"Bait" in terms of motivating others to try it, not in terms of that the video is bait. 🙂 Huge fan of @ModernVintageG obvisously! 😇 And yes, I think it's doable without special hardware. Just not very fast and quiet limited in terms of resolution and/or colors.

@TheSafuSifu Oh, and the Saturn version *might* double as a wireless NetLink to be used with Saturn Bomberman and other supported games. That alone would make the cartridfe worth a buy imho, but still need to finish/validate the implementation before we can make a definite promise.
@TheSafuSifu Not really. The Neo Geo might get some minor extra (nothing game changing, literally ☺️), but the Saturn has a Twin Stick :) Are you trying to make a call on which one to buy or just curious?
Time to create some awesome, deliberate map layouts for the different arenas. To make that easier, we've started work on a dedicated map editor today :) For internal use only.
