A crushing loss. He was tremendous, and to me the last true legend of that era. Thankfully Ron Carter and Herbie are still with us, but Rollins was the last of the great giants of that period. I’m listening to his live Village Vanguard recording tonight as I call it a night. RIP Mr Sonny Rollins.
