@Skelet0r2@gibhox@NickyScatz Ah yes. Margins of 8.8, 2.6, 13.2, 9.8, and 12.8, mean he has come close to losing in recent years. In reality, only 2018 was close lol.
@JoshRos83402777@reeveslawstl SCOTUS can only consider the question before it, i.e., the state law claims and not the federal law claims. Jurisdictional issue.
Leftist policy is just extremely strict rules and guidelines for any net contributor to society, and zero enforcement or standards for everyone who harms society and themselves.
The government delivered on all their promises, crime decreased, economy grew well, but because of migrants voting on ethnic lines it’ll all go to shit again. This is an important lesson for us all.
@JustAWriter71@cremieuxrecueil Cool. Let’s just screw the construction workers, the permanent workers and the members of the community who lose out on the property tax revenue, sales tax revenue, and reduced electric bills from a stable base load.
This week in “data centers raise your bill:”
- Georgia Power: Residential savings go from $102/yr to $180/yr by 2029
- PG&E: 4th rate cut in 2 years, down 11% since 2024
- Indiana Michigan asks regulators for a rate reduction
All cite data center growth as the reason.
Every ship entering the Great Lakes goes through the Welland Canal, located fully in Canada. There’s no other option. $26.3 billion of US trade depends on it. Would be a shame if tolls skyrocketed or it was transit-taxed heavily…
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Power providers are asking state regulators to allow them to lower electric bills in several states across the country.
They're able to do this thanks to data centers.
My suggestion? Put that on the bill. Put a line that says it's lower BECAUSE of data centers. Explicitly.
Am I the only one who doesn’t understand why we need data centers?
I spent all morning searching Google and Wikipedia and couldn’t find a single good reason. Then I watched a 45-minute YouTube explainer in 4K, but it was mostly about AI, and I’m just waiting for that bubble to pop.
I opened 200 browser tabs, downloaded a few hundred research papers, translated three from Chinese, and uploaded 2TB of sequencing data so colleagues in eight countries could analyze it with me. Then we discussed the results on Zoom while Slack transcribed the meeting and emailed everyone a summary.
Around lunch, my phone backed up 14,000 family photos, synchronized my contacts and calendar across six devices, routed me around traffic, checked the weather using live satellite data, booked a doctor’s appointment, refilled a prescription, paid a bill, transferred money between banks, approved payroll for hundreds of employees, and ordered groceries.
Later, I read about hospitals retrieving patient records and medical scans in seconds, emergency services coordinating disaster responses, scientists designing protein therapies and sharing enormous datasets, utilities balancing the electrical grid, and airlines continuously rerouting thousands of flights.
But these all felt like pretty niche edge cases.
So I asked an AI agent to turn everything I had done that day into a Twitter post, make it increasingly insane and obvious, and optimize it for maximum engagement.
20 years from now: "fucking capitalists put all the data centers outside of the country to mess with regular americans and make us pay for foreign compute"
He goes after Usha. He goes after Natalie. This coward picks on women who are not in his fight. Imagine how he would treat female staffers in the halls of Congress.
If you are against data centers, you should immediately cease:
Online banking
Streaming shows
Using social media
Storing photos and files in the cloud
Engaging in e-commerce/online shopping
Participating in video calls
Online gaming
Etc.
People voted for a "golden age" where we brought back industry and manufacturing to the united states. Then it started happening and suddenly there is a massive "grassroots" op entirely funded through foreign money laundering doner foundations and suddenly nobody wants industry anymore.
Good thing he is pushing back on this insanity.
