TN had 61 uncontested seats in 2022: 49% of all seats on the ballot.

The party in power can ignore these races because they win by default.

We must run everywhere, because challengers hold incumbents accountable and force parties to use resources to win.

A @Fwd_Party volunteer noticed that if you travel 8.2 miles on I-24 from LaVergne to Nashville, you'll pass through 4 Congressional districts: the work of the @TNGOP who gerrymandered the map to protect their interests instead of yours.

In sports, crowd engagement energizes the home team, disrupts the visitors, & prompts the refs and coaches to call a better game. Best part is a small group of people can start something big.

If it works in sports, perhaps it can work in politics, too.

@thezigpc Agreed. With lack of competition in many seats around the country, many are decided in primaries. Some TN legislators have repeatedly tried to close primaries. We'll continue pushing back against closing primaries if it comes back up in 2024.

Florida Forward Party has earned official party status so voters can register & candidates can run as members of FFP.

Like TN, FL's govt. has single-party control & a House that has a quorum even if the minority party never shows.

FL has a roadmap to share!

Think of local elections as teachers and state elections as principals: teachers have the greatest impact on students.
