From the archives: a retelling of the “real story” of the start of the CSWA in 1988. I think I wrote this in 1998, although I may have that date wrong - but it’s from this early era of the site. https://t.co/4crCifxl2a
@LarcherThanLife Did you bite it because you feared for your life when it came through the door aggressively? And where is the Head of Legal it brought with it?
@davidbix Scherer and Ryder were the ones working closely with Heyman. To the point that Ryder helped create the initial ECW website. Ryder had a long-standing relationship with ECW back to Prodigy and then https://t.co/Bo4xCg3w7z, of which Joey Styles was a secret co-owner.
@jkranites@BuffaloWingDave @XJBeckX @lighthoarder@SeanRossSapp@davemeltzerWON The “live event” number is the viewers who watched for a minute or more. We don’t know if the +3 number is the same or how it’s reported. Someone with more Nielsen knowledge would have to weigh in.
@XJBeckX @lighthoarder@SeanRossSapp@davemeltzerWON@davemeltzerWON reports on this periodically. The +3 tends to be 15-20% I believe. Early in Dynamite’s history it was higher, but I think they’ve all evened out to be relatively consistent.
@RobertFrew322@exitdave@Clint4000@davemeltzerWON The market is smart enough to know what’s going on, whether you label it “retirement” or “resignation.” They don’t have a discernible difference here. The stock price changes right now are driven by the increased potential value in selling the company to the highest bidder
@RobertFrew322@Clint4000@davemeltzerWON That’s not exactly how it works. The Board doesn’t have every action voted on by shareholders. Vince could push to changes to the Board, but he can no longer mandate them. His primary impact now is on selling or not selling.
@RobertFrew322@MikeCT11@davemeltzerWON He’s not on the Board anymore. He remains the largest shareholder, which has clout but no direct authority. Biggest impact would be on pushing for a sale or vetoing one.

@LarcherThanLife You were a member of the CSWA. Your legacy is secure. That said, get your ass up in those negative temps and warm your blood. We’ve lost Betty, Sidney and Bob, we’re not losing Duke!
