Often #pitbulladvocate try to claim “they’re all very different breeds”, but that’s just the shell game with breed names and shows that they don’t know shit about these dogs or their history. It’s a tactic to obscure the breed. Here’s a thread on why they aren’t “different dogs”.
Update on Mason — he was badly attacked by two pit bulls at a relative’s home in Houston. “He basically lost the entire left side of his face” in the attack. We have no words for this photo update. https://t.co/hn2Vcr3bjQ
Man instrumental in push to rescind Ohio's public safety laws against pit bulls now charged with 28 felonies relating to his pit bull promotion activities.
@thisisjames Probably from repeated review bombing and harassment they were getting from pit owners. The owner still said she stands behind not allowing pits for the safety of her employees and clients.
Some of the worst cases always come out of Ohio. "Owner of pit bulls in Acme attack sentenced, called ‘psychopath’ by victim in statement” https://t.co/UuoseiN5Gb
Plumber attacked by pitbulls in Algiers, LASPCA investigating—five pit bulls. Dogs were “eating out of garbage” before attacking. Attacked man’s genitals too. NOT FIRST TIME AC called about location! https://t.co/SNP2AEpAe6
Every #adoptdontshop person says you can “find a rescue dog in every breed”, but it’s far from the truth. These shelter rescue people also harp about everyone else mislabeling other dogs as pits, but they literally label pits as every other breed to try and move them #banpitbulls
For people who wonder why I no longer support the shelter/rescue industry, it’s because of their deceptive practices. Not only with hiding bite records and sanitizing records, but flat out lying about breed issues just to get dogs adopted. Take for instance the affenpinscher.
I could literally look up hundreds of different breeds and find hundreds of mislabeled #pitbulls in breeds the dog couldn’t conceivably be, but the fact remains that shelters and rescues lie.
@purplegliiter LA county has a county wide leash ordinance, she can definitely call AC every time it’s running loose. If the apartment manager refuses to do anything, she should look for another apartment and inform the insurance company they use of the liability. https://t.co/ISwXgXo0y6
She’d need to check with local laws as many have leash ordinances. If the neighbor is in an apartment as well, she can always alert the apartment manager to the issue. It’s a huge liability for them to have loose dogs running around, especially aggressive breeds.
@FYourPit i need advice, my friend lives on an apartment and her neighbor allows her pit to roam free cause hes nice” who can she call to make a report?
@Craig37803029 Guns do work, but a lot of people don’t know how to use them properly/safely. They also need to practice hitting moving targets and evaluating backstop in real life, and be able to keep cool in high adrenaline situations. As they’re in an apartment, it may not be legal to fire.
I would highly, highly encourage her to document and report each and every time the dog is at large. Photos are good, video is better. In some municipalities the police handle animal control, in others it’s a separate entity. She needs to check with her municipality.
Even if a dog owner thinks their dog is nice, thus it’s ok to let the dog roam, they’re still being an entitled asshole. Their dog is nice to them and in front of them, but that doesn’t mean the dog will continue being “nice” when they aren’t around (studies support this).
