Kidnapping will never thrive in the South West and other major urban centres because cities are difficult environments for criminal groups to operate in. Dense populations, stronger policing, and constant human activity make it far easier for security agencies to track and dismantle kidnapping networks. This is one reason cities like Kano have remained relatively stable despite wider security challenges.

The bandits' greatest advantage has always been geography and mobility, not strength. Vast forests and remote terrain provide cover, but that advantage is steadily shrinking. Better intelligence gathering, drone surveillance, and FPV technology are putting a timer on even the most elusive criminal groups.

Nigeria will win this fight. The process may be gradual, but the trend is clear: the space available to bandits is narrowing, and the country will emerge stronger because of it.
