Excited to announce that the first paper @HeikeKluever and I started during my PhD is now available at @WEPsocial! We find that exposure to radical right parties in parliament leads coalitions to adopt tougher immigration policies in their joint agreements.

Excited that this workshop on cleavage politics is happening at the ECPR Joint Sessions 2024 in Lüneburg.

I have been at a loss for words since the weekend; I am deeply worried for the safety of my friends, family & people suffering from brutality. When I got this email today, I burst into tears. If you can help Aaron, please let me know, and I will connect you to him. Please help!
Has #Hamas invasion affected public opinion toward the conflict? By pure coincidence, @miguelmaria and I currently have a survey in the field, measuring who Germans blame for conflict in the ME. The attack has significantly shifted opinion: A majority now blames Palestinians.
Do you feel taxed fairly? @fabian_kalf & I find: the rich overestimate their tax contributions relative to the poor & vice versa; once the rich learn that the poor pay more tax than they thought, they increase their willingness to pay tax. @DelorsBerlin

Examining European parliamentary democracies, I show that polarized party systems are associated with higher voter turnout. Exploring the mechanism, I show that negative affect plays a more robust role in predicting participation than positive affect or spatial considerations.
Just over a year after my thesis defense, I'm thrilled to see my doctoral JMP published in @cps_journal. Grateful to my supervisor, committee, and colleagues whose contributions shaped this paper: https://t.co/TKpYqh1cje
New from @FabioEllger (WZB). Polarization tends to increase turnout, but what's the mechanism? B/c it brings new actors into the party system? or b/c negative affect is increasing? Exploring 22 Euro countries, results find negative affect more important https://t.co/lwqwgP5xPi
Our unit is happy to host the @WZB_Democracy TD Junior Scholars Workshop with an amazing group of young academics from Berlin and beyond! A big thank you to all attendees for their engaging presentations and diligent feedback 👩💻🤓📊
