A profoundly sad day for all of us involved in the Centre and for an entire community. We've lost a truly extraordinary man. We also know that his legacy will live on through the treatment centre that bears his name.
Today on September 4th, 2020 we mourn the loss of our founder, Dave Smith. Our DSYTC family are reacting with profound sadness to the news of Dave’s passing at the age of 87.

In the midst of all the anxiety and confusion, it's important to acknowledge the remarkable job our #publichealth officials are doing. Hats off, especially, to @VeraEtches at Ottawa Public Health who's doing an incredible job under extraordinary stress. #covid19#coronavirus
To all of our DSYTC supporters, please kindly read the following message from our Executive Director for further information on our protocols during this time.
Thanks to @CAC_ACE, @ltlafreniere, and Peter Niedre for the opportunity to present our Transformational Coaching Workshop last Friday in Ottawa. @jenturnnidge and I really enjoyed the discussion and interaction with the coaches.

Couldn't help but reminisce today at the @cdnclubottawa lunch featuring @goldyhyder. He and I met as volunteers on the Club's executive back in the early 2000's and had a great time recruiting interesting speakers. Several years later, here's Goldy back at the podium! #fullcircle
Welcome back, Hyder. Former club president @goldyhyder returns to @cdnclubottawa to make the case for a bolder Canada. Need skills, investment, regulations and trade for the world as it’s evolving, not as it was. 🇨🇦 #cdnclubottawa
Jack and Sheila are very special people, opening up their home and their property to a lucky group of family and friends for a spectacular day of music and laughter. Ever so grateful for their support of @DaveSmithYouth#woodsfest
Thanks so much to Jack and Sheila Woods, the event hosts of "WoodsFest". It was their idea to name the Dave Smith Youth Treatment Centre as the charity of choice. They attended this year’s Wild Wild West event and were deeply moved by what they learned and the people they met.
We applaud the Leadership at @CanadaSoccerEN in working to ensure Safe Sport for their participants. An important step for a positive sport environment for all!
