The current US policy in Lebanon protecting hezballa for the sake of negotiations reminds of Eisenhower's policy in 1956 protecting Gamal Abdelnasser from being ousted by the UK, France and Israel, the result was a disaster to the Middle East.
@JDVance@marcorubio
The statement that Israeli occupation of part of South Lebanon is an obstacle to disarming hezballa doesn't hold. Before Oct 8, 2023 there was no IDF occupation yet hezballa continued to arm, dug tunnels and prepared to invade Israel.
@marcorubio
On Lebanese MTV news the Rome negotiations are about Israel withdrawing. No mention of Hezbollah’s weapons; meanwhile, the MPs voted for the return of UNIFIL, acting as if the entire state wants to go back to exactly how things were before October 8, 2023
Finally @realDonaldTrump knows the reality of the Iranian regime. When will he know the same reality about hezballa, the IRGC division and stop protecting them through ceasefire in Lebanon?
@realDonaldTrump People told you that you can't trust the iranians, now you know! Yet you still defend hezballa, the IRGC division, by insisting on a ceasefire in Lebanon.
Iran continues to blackmail the world at Hormuz, and the US continues the appeasement of the regime by promising to release $3 billion if Iran behaves. History is full of the bad consequences of appeasement
