In this case, I believe @SecRubio @marcorubio should not sign any removal of Syria from the State Sponsor of Terrorism list (SST)..
When a documented participant in #sectarian_massacres such as #Mustafa_Qabaro is officially invited by the #Ministry_of_Culture to participate in children’s activities, It is called state-sponsored rehabilitation of #violent actors.
A government that is serious about normalization prosecutes perpetrators of #massacres. It does not platform them, legitimize them, or integrate them into public life and state institutions.
Removing the SST designation under these conditions would send a catastrophic message that #ideological_rebranding and diplomatic optics matter more than accountability, #justice, and civilian protection.
Publicly legitimizing individuals linked to atrocities demonstrates that it has not.
Until there is verifiable accountability, dismantling of extremist networks, and genuine transitional justice, lifting the #SST designation would reward impunity not stability.
