Honestly, this was heartbreaking to watch.

Noor Zaman’s performance in today’s Asian Games semifinal against Malaysia’s Eain Yow was deeply disappointing. A player representing Pakistan on such a huge stage should fight for every single point until the very end. But today, especially in the second and third games, it felt as if the fight and intensity were missing.

Noor is a talented player and has already achieved a lot for Pakistan squash. That is exactly why expectations from him were so high. With such an important opportunity on the line — including Olympic qualification being linked to the gold medal — this was not the performance Pakistani squash fans were hoping to see.

Losing is part of sport. But when you wear the Pakistan shirt, the fight should never disappear.

I sincerely hope Noor learns from this match, comes back stronger, and gives Pakistan the performances we know he is capable of. 🇵🇰

Pakistan Squash deserves to rise again. And Noor Zaman has the talent to be part of that journey. 🥀🏆
