Having money is not the only way to empower yourself as a woman. Have principles and beliefs you standby. Be disciplined. Be a talk and do woman. You can be struggling and still stand your ground ASF. Be wise.
Sometimes, I think about how many versions of ourselves we've had to become just to make it this far.
The version that was scared. The version that didn't know what to do. The version that kept trying anyway.
I hope we learn to be kinder to all of them.💙
Somewhere between figuring life out, trying to make money, and pretending to have everything under control, I hope we remember to enjoy being alive.
Anyway, goodnight. May tomorrow bring better news and fewer reasons to overthink. 😂💙
About a year ago, a young man messaged me with one line,
"I think I am too late to start cybersecurity."
He was 27. He thought he had missed it.
Today he works as a SOC analyst, earning in dollars, remotely, from the same room he sent that message from.
Nothing about him changed except one thing. He stopped trying to figure it out alone.
That is the whole secret nobody tells you. The people who make it into cybersecurity are rarely the smartest or the most experienced. They are the ones who found someone to show them the path, tell them what to ignore, and keep them going on the days they wanted to quit.
That is exactly what we built the VA Cybersecurity Mentorship Programme to do, many thanks to The Victor Akinode Foundation.
Cohort 4.0 is now open, in partnership with Veenode Technologies. You get live classes, one-on-one mentorship, free access to Veenode Learn and Labs in your own language, industry webinars, and a community of people chasing the same thing you are.
It is built for beginners. It is your starting point. And it will not be open for long.
Applications close September 25th, 2026. Slots are limited.
Do not be the person who looks back in two years wishing you had started today.
