Did you know?
Over 30% of daily productivity in growing commercial hubs like Ibadan is lost to unpredictable transit delays.
Real transport operations aren't just about moving people, it's about protecting your time and keeping the city's engine running.

collagen is a scam.
or maybe it’s not…
do you know what the “glycine gap” is?
the amino acid glycine is widely considered to be a “non-essential” nutrient, but this is far from the truth.
your body makes around 3g of glycine daily, de novo (from serine via SHMT)…
but this falls FAR short of what your body needs for optimal collagen, glutathione (master antioxidant), creatine, heme (for red blood cells), purines (DNA) and more.
how far short? more than 10 grams per day (PMID 20093739)!
this must come from your diet, yet almost none of us are getting it, because glycine is still labeled “non-essential.”
i’d consider collagen (skin, hair, tendons, ligaments etc.), glutathione, RBCs and DNA pretty darn essential, wouldn’t you?
not getting enough can lead to accelerated aging, reduced skin elasticity and hydration, more wrinkles, weaker gut lining, slower wound healing, joint and cartilage breakdown, higher oxidative stress, poor detoxification, worse sleep, and more inflammation.
no bueno.
throughout history humans ate animals nose-to-tail. now we throw away the tendons, cartilage and “chewy bits” or feed them to our dogs (lucky dogs).
this is a problem.
connective tissues and broths made from them are by far the best food sources of glycine. plant foods barely contain any. sorry vegans, the amino acids aren’t in your favor.
muscle meat has only ~1.5g glycine per 100g. you’d need to eat over two pounds a day to close the gap.
those “chewy bits” are glycine (collagen) gold. don’t throw them out. make broth from knuckle bones, oxtail, tendons and cartilage or slow-cook and eat them directly.
never tried tendon? it’s not as bad as you think! i’m literally chewing on some right now as i type this.
cooked tendon/cartilage = 8-12g glycine per 100g, oxtail ~4g/100g, and a good broth is around 4g per 100ml.
animal studies are fascinating too: glycine supplementation extended lifespan in worms (PMID 30845140) and mice (PMID 30916479) by 4-6%.
if you can’t or won’t eat tendons or make broth, a clean third-party-tested collagen powder is a solid backup.
i’d rather get my glycine from real food, but falling short on a nutrient this important is way worse than using a good supplement.
regardless of how you get your glycine, know that collagen is most definitely not a scam.
humans have eaten this for hundreds of thousands of years, and you should too if you value your longevity, skin, immune system, joints, sleep and gut.
now if you’ll excuse me, i have more tendon to chew on.
