Sadly, our time in @CityofJoburgZA is coming to an end.
It's just been too much in the last couple of years. The decline is not only heartbreaking but destroys quality of life.
We have an out and we are taking it. Starting 2025 as one of the semigrants to the WC.
I am so sad.
OK guys. I'm triggered. Conversations about @CityofJoburgZA@CityPowerJhb@JHBWater make me incandescent with anger. For the last fews months I've read the stories about the R972 million tenders that went to families or associates of officials. I bit my tongue because my rage is like a wildfire in my chest.
There was also the R335 million wasted on overpriced cleaning equipment. In June 2025, the High Court struck down the city's Property Rates Policy and called it "unlawful" and "procedurally dishonest." I shut up because this was too close to home.
Add the revenue collection contract which reportedly paid R210 million a year and the alleged conflict of interest involving then MMC for Finance, now mayor Dada Morero and Helen Botes.
And the incompetence? Do you recall a parliamentary committee flagging COJ for submitting documents 30 minutes before a key meeting?
Chronic water problems, electricity, uncut grass and wait for it, residents fighting to keep the public library open because they don't give a damn about what matters to residents, to children? How do you even fail to keep a historic library open? Bow your heads in shame!
This is personal because all the above are the reasons we no longer have a home in the city of our birth. We could not afford bills of R40K-R50K. And time spent asking them to explain. When we took legal route the bills went down🤔
It is not enough for Godongwana/ @GovernmentZA@PresidencyZA to form Working Groups or ask Dada for explanations. You cannot teach empathy and decency. What they all need is a confrontation with reality. With so many people not paying because they are too indigent and some because they can afford but refuse to, you cannot squeeze those who pay and treat them with disdain. Their resources are not limitless.
You cannot demand that ratepayers finance your gravy train. Break them, and you will also collapse.
@CityofJoburgZA is a disgrace and residents deserve better.
@Lesufi You are such a poser.
It would be funny if it is was not so sad - so many people negatively affected by you pretending to be a functional, caring public servant.
@JHBWater Why? Half of JHB had been without water for days. It looks like more dry days ahead because of the planned maintenance.
So, why? Can you not supply enough water even with 4 million residents cut off?
Comment: I wonder why President Cupcake 🧁 hasn’t said a word (not one!) about what’s happening in Joburg. He lives here, walks here, shops here - in an area often with no water, no street lights and potholed. @CyrilRamaphosa place Joburg under national administration.
Hello Bryanston
A tree has fallen over on bryanston drive infront of the country club blocking majority of the road. Please avoid the road I have escalated for urgent attention

LOOK AT THIS!
Water Shedding is here.
And it will make load shedding look like a minor inconvenience.
There is no time to mess about. URGENT action is needed.
Here we go…
It’s called supply reduction now
And there’s a schedule starting up.
It’s water shedding.
It’s a crisis.
Are we angry enough to do something yet?
@CityofJoburgZA@JHBWater lol "water challenges"
Don't let them off easy - PLEASE!
This is a crisis and the time for soft touch or unearned respect is far behind us!
