FOS: A SINKING SHIP–ITS CAPTAINS ARE ALREADY IN THE LIFEBOATS:
Every time the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) is scrutinised, serious deficiencies emerge. Whether through the lens of consumers’ lived experiences, feedback from financial institutions, interactions with other regulatory and institutional bodies, or even Freedom of Information requests, an unmistakable chorus of criticism echoes across the board.

🚨 Major Study Alert: @warwickuni research reveals discrepancies in Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) @financialombuds complaint handling. The study shows that FOS reported a 37% success rate, while actual favourable outcomes were closer to 24%. Cases marked 'upheld' often resulted in minimal/no compensation.

The research found up to 48% inflation in banking complaint success rates. In some cases, 96-99% of 'upheld' complaints had no meaningful resolution. These findings align with widespread consumer experiences reflected in the 1.3/5 TrustPilot rating.
