A sobering reminder on #WorldChildrensDay: @ilo estimates 160 million children aged five to 17 are in child labor around the world.
That’s roughly 1 in 10 children worldwide. 🧵
While governments are responsible for creating and enforcing laws that protect children, companies of all sizes and in all countries are responsible for ensuring that they know the risks of child labor in their own operations and in all tiers of their supply chains.
Good news out of the @EUCouncil today: they have adopted a regulation prohibiting products in the EU market that are made using forced labor.
