Like many of you, we’ve been deeply shaken by President Trump’s recent executive order targeting the existence and rights of transgender people across the United States.
Our identities, values, and the ways we support each other are ours to define, and no one can take that away.
But we have some tough legal and legislative fights ahead to prepare for, and we will take them on — together.
So rest and recharge. Stay hydrated. Take care of yourself. And stay in touch for ways to engage here and with your local LGBTQ+ organizations and community.
These are issues that impact real people, our families, our friends, and our neighbors – and we can’t afford to let anyone be left behind. #FairnessPA /7

The First Lady and I are thinking of Pauly Likens' friends, family, and our entire LGBTQ+ community right now. @PAStatePolice’s investigation is ongoing and her horrific murder must be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
It’s past time to strengthen Pennsylvania’s laws to treat hate-based crimes against LGBTQ+ folks the same way other hate crimes are treated. Send the bill to my desk, and I will sign it.
As Anti-LGBTQ Backlash Grows, Advocates Say There Is ‘Hope’ In Action | “We can't forget that democracy is not a spectator sport–it's the difference between maintaining progress in the fight for LGBTQ+ rights & losing them,” said @FairnessPA Sarah Hammond https://t.co/cMwtfLpZcf
Every person deserves the choice, opportunity, and freedom to marry their partner. We will always stand alongside all folks championing to protect these rights here in PA and nationwide. #LoveWins 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️
9 years ago today on June 26, 2015, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled on Obergefell v. Hodges, making Marriage Equality the law of the land across the United States.
The work at the federal level is important — but the fight is not over. As we’ve seen in recent years, SCOTUS rulings can be overturned. It’s equally critical that we continue to fight to enshrine these protections in our state law.
