IN PICTURES: First-hand experience of firefighters' essential water rescues https://t.co/B4FNAwalMU @CumbriaFire@CarlisleEast@samsmedley46 looks like fun, but a very serious message. 2021 was a dreadful year for drownings in UK waters #notjustfires#BeWaterAware

The constant assumption by some that if you're a person of colour in any kind of prominent role that you must've been given it because of your colour and not because you EARNED it is so exhausting. 🤨😒

If you're using portable heaters this winter, use them safely.
Keep them away from furniture, bedding, curtains and Christmas decorations.
Don't dry clothes on or near them.
Don’t sit too close and turn them off before going to bed.

If you still don’t have power, there are a number of respite facilities open. You can head to YMCA Lakeside on Windermere for free accommodation too - just turn up - (Address below)

I’ve spent several days this week at @CumbriaFire HQ, along with staff from @CumbriaCC, local NHS organisations and more.
