We recently held successful genetic sampling sessions at Faizan e Raza, Masjid Shan-e-Islam and Jamiyat Tabligh ul Islam Frizinghall in Bradford.
FaithIn Communities hosted its quarterly steering group meeting for Year 3 of the Youth Resilience Programme at @madnibradford.
The meeting served as a vital space for grassroots organizations & stakeholders to discuss progress and shape future plans for Bradford’s youth.

The Genes & Health study continues its vital work in Bradford by a landmark collaboration between @BiBresearch & @BTHFT research investigates genetic factors to understand the high risk of diabetes and heart disease in South Asian communities.
A successful data and sample collection session was held at Faizan e Makkah Mosque (BD9 5AB) in this cause. By bringing medical research into the heart of the community, this initiative helps healthcare professionals develop targeted treatments and prevention strategies.
To support learning beyond the mosque, children will complete a home-based encouragement tick sheet, helping embed healthy habits within everyday family life through faith-led learning.4/4

Dr Rosslyn Kerr outlined the program's agendas, while participating organizations shared updates on their initiatives. Notably, Bradford Jubodhol FC and Citizens Science presented their strategies for promoting positive mental health and career support among youth.

We are delighted to share that the Genes and Health Programme has recently engaged with Al-Hidaaya Foundation and Markazi Jamia Masjid Keighley, fostering community-driven research. We are working with mosques to collect genetic samples from South Asian communities in Bradford.
