A 56-year-old Gambian national, Momodou Bobb, has been sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of his wife, Ndata Bobb, in Edinburgh, Scotland.

He stabbed her 22 times while their children were at home.

He will serve a minimum of 16 years and 8 months.

A tragic reminder of the reality of domestic violence. 💔

This whole Frank and wife saga just proves something women have been saying for years:

The problem was never lack of evidence.
Women provide screenshots, voice notes, hospital reports, witnesses, bruises, confessions and somehow it’s still “not enough.”

Because a lot of people already decided they won’t believe women before the story even starts.

The goalpost only keeps moving so accountability never has to happen.

You have clearly not worked for any NGO that stands for domestic violence. A lot of women never speak up, most of them recused were reported by close friends or neighbours. When spoken to, they’d say their children some women even blame themselves because their husbands has made them believe their actions were caused by them. I’m not mad you are just not exposed and that’s okay. A lot of women leave marriages and relationships because of DV but they’d say “he was cheating, he was this that” just a few that would boldly say they were physically abused.

@0moyeh @WizFather_ Many DA victims never speak out, they’re too busy blaming themselves. Professionally speaking, abusers are experts at playing the victim, smearing others, and sounding the alarm first. Do your research before you speak on this.

@fhejyrho @Hybrid_Ola Because a victim of domestic abuse will at some point forget what normalcy means, you need to explain to them what abusive behaviour looks like for them to fully understand what they are going through. Domestic abuse is dangerous, it is really dangerous.
