If more of us valued food and cheer and sing above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world.
All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us.

@SoFaNightmareDK@olabakas@_YoungTurbo_@hayasaka_aryan I.e. the argument God being un-created is justified because God IS the source for creation.
The point is it’s illogical to assert the universe caused itself, as it’s hypothesized both space and time didn’t even exist prior to the Big Bang. Nothing cannot cause something.
@VatirDaTot @Starrylovespace @Broodje_Unox@xaviersoraped@LancExists To add, it’s not a ‘blanket solution’. The point isn’t that you will have no problems in life. It there’s a change of heart, a change of perspective.
And frankly even in suffering we should be glad for life. Because life IS precious. It’s hard lesson, but that’s my two cents.
@VatirDaTot @Starrylovespace @Broodje_Unox@xaviersoraped@LancExists You misunderstand. I’m talking about the context you gave, not at all about him or the original response. I’m saying some situations are worse than others, sometimes walking away from it is the right response.
Might not ‘fix’ family, or it may. But it’s a sound place to start.
@VatirDaTot @Starrylovespace @Broodje_Unox@xaviersoraped@LancExists I don’t believe I was moving the goalposts on purpose. I’m just defending the Jesus thing.
While I think reconciliation and ACTUAL change should be pursued within the context of faith, it’s not always going to happen, and isn’t always the best option. Again, context matters.
@spades_alpha@VatirDaTot @Starrylovespace @Broodje_Unox@xaviersoraped@LancExists You’re right not everyone believes, I get some people tend to roll their eyes. Barring the fact Christians are meant to bring the good news; what harm is there in at least raising the point? People find hope in it.
Guy could’ve done it better and less bluntly, for sure, though.
@kultigerkeklord@VatirDaTot @Starrylovespace @Broodje_Unox@xaviersoraped@LancExists +
Your mind, but that’s a complete mischaracterization. It’s just plainly not the whole truth.
I mean sadistic? Really? It’s sadistic to say there’s something greater to lean on and hope for? Sadistic to give comfort to the oppressed? Alright man, whatever.
@kultigerkeklord@VatirDaTot @Starrylovespace @Broodje_Unox@xaviersoraped@LancExists + can’t lay that charge on an entire church made up of BILLIONS.
It’s very real problem, I agree. But that’s why I don’t believe the church, the church is a people, not a place. And there are always going to be people who take advantage of that.
Course I’m not about to change

@VatirDaTot @Starrylovespace @Broodje_Unox@xaviersoraped@LancExists And yeah the guy got it wrong to say all families are good. Context is important. Doesn’t mean have to make up with them or embrace your abusers.
I’ve known people from broken families, and that hasn’t stopped from being the MOST faithful and happy with life despite their past.

Therefore science changes, and its answers. Not to say it’s not effective in its own way. But its job is objectively never done, and still has very simple and even mundane things it doesn’t rightly have answers to.
Also I wanna see the source of that pic, just for curiosity.
@Wrenosaur_ Sure, I’m not disagreeing that science is a great tool for understanding the universe. But that’s why it’s a tool, not the answer(s) themselves. you don’t go looking for science, you use science to go looking. But as I said, conclusions can and do change. Methodology changes.

In the history of our universe, as far as scientists can tell, are unfathomable.
John Carson Lennox, a genius mathematician and apologist who debated Dawkins and Hitchens, has made comments on just how improbable these things occurring by sheer chance.
@Wrenosaur_ Not so. Even though scientists generally avoid addressing religious thought, there are certainly aspects of our universe that gives a compelling basis on believing that there is a source.
Mathematically speaking, the utter odds of so many borderline impossible events

Hence why I say scientific study is effective, but always changing; and while usually following similar guidelines, can and will differ between scientists.
@Wrenosaur_ —
Other. Like how some people think empiricism is better than rationalism, which are opposites. Pretty much all functions of science are based on philosophical principles, which contrary to what you’ve already said, would therefore hold no real value if it’s all subjective.

@Wrenosaur_@MercTao1488@LocalDegenerat7 @8_bit_link —
It is looking at the readily observable, that’s literally what any scientific field is; it’s trying to better understand the universe and the structures in it.
And I won’t insult your intelligence, but like I said, those beliefs are your own. But surely not definitive.
@Wrenosaur_@MercTao1488@LocalDegenerat7 @8_bit_link One last thing. On top of science not touching the issue, any matter of research is inherently subject to change. Science is not static, even things we believe now because of it could easily change if there was an alternative with reasoning that resembles reality better.
