The debut album from California's other major gangsta rap group. Another chapter in the Ruthless Records saga, but also a step forward in the evolution of the genre's sound.

It’s an album by a rapper, but not a rap album. On “Secret House Against The World”, @Buck65 finally pulls off the transformation we’ve heard about since he signed to Warner: his reinvention as a folk-rock singer.

2024 was @bossman_dlow's year. From Mr. Beat The Road to Dlow Curry, the newly minted XXL Freshman brought Detroit's gritty, abrasive rap sound to Florida's sun-soaked world of flashy, sex-crazed show-offs. Irresistible stuff.

The major-label debut from @Buck65, Halifax’s inventive rapper and beatmaker, hardly sounds like an album designed for mass appeal. It feels more like a mixtape. But on “Square”, the music is already – or still – gorgeous.

Another great L.A. record that sounds nothing like a typical L.A. record. On this legendary debut album, The Nonce, a duo closely associated with the Project Blowed collective, deliver a masterpiece of smooth, jazzy hip-hop.

After his moment of glory, it’s his crew’s turn to step into the spotlight. With “Serve & Collect”, Slim Thug’s Boss Hogg Outlawz turn the police motto into a slogan for drug dealers and deliver great Houston rap.

The Holocaust is a Wu-Tang affiliate, while production duo Blue Sky Black Death hails from the deepest reaches of the hip-hop underground. Yet these three were destined to work together.
