Yet another monumental sh.tshow, this was.
I barely got to speak. and when I did, I was CONSTANTLY derailed by the host and others with a myriad of non-sequitor questions, with very little opportunity to reply to the near-constant barrage. Between that and the host's slavish dependence on Grok, it was hard to maintain any head of steam. Which, I suppose, was the whole point.
It's seems there was a definite agenda being put forth, and they did NOT want someone like my dropping a turd in their little punchbowl.
Anyway, I tried to get a bit of truth out there between the cracks of this giant wall of horsesh.t.
Read my comments in the pill, folks.
@MaxNordau I was just in a @DiligentDenizen with @IanMalcolm84, and Ian told several USS Liberty whoppers while there.
If Ian is running the space, he'd never let me up.
Espacially after today.
Massie is a lying piece of shit.
Every single conspiracy theory is debunked in Judge Cristol's brilliant book.
Judge Cristol was a US Naval Officer who spent decades researching the incident while fighting to declassify all available documents. He was also Chief Judge Emeritus of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Florida and my bankruptcy law professor in law school. 🙌
@DiligentDenizen@JoahSantos you're leaving out the fact that any boats that got hit were empty. A couple of boats dropped over the side caught a bulled fire from thousands of yards away.
If it had beed their intention to leave no one alive, then no one would have been left alive.
@DiligentDenizen@JoahSantos The recall was ordered over an HOUR after the IDF boats signaled offers of assistace (with no further attack).
@IanMalcolm84 is a liar.

“Admiral Martin, the Sixth Fleet commander, ordered F-4B Phantom jet fighters and A-1 Skyraiders launched to defend the Liberty. The naval messages transmitted, including the situation reports sent by Admiral Martin to Admiral McCain, Commander in Chief, Naval Forces Europe, indicate that the aircraft were launched at about 1600 Sinai time from the carriers America and Saratoga and were recalled by Martin following receipt of the message from Commander Castle, the U.S. naval attaché in Tel Aviv, advising that the Israelis had attacked the ship by mistake. The records of the messages establish that Martin recalled the aircraft before or at about the time the first word of the attack reached President Johnson in Washington. When the Israeli high command in the Kirya became aware with certainty that the target was a U.S. Navy ship, Lt. Col. Michael “Mike” Bloch, an IDF army intelligence officer serving as liaison with foreign military attachés, was ordered to advise the U.S. naval attaché in Tel Aviv of the situation. Bloch contacted Cdr. Ernest Castle at the U.S. embassy by telephone and advised him of the attacks and offered to send a car to take him from the U.S. embassy on[…]”

Today, on this anniversary of the USS Liberty Incident, let’s truly honor the brave men who served on the ship by acknowledging the truth of this unfortunate event. As usual, and as per every year, the usual conspiracy theorists will come out of the woodwork and repeat the same tall tales and demonstrable falsehoods in order to exploit the tragedy for their own purposes - for ad revenue, for clicks, for clout, or just to satisfy their own hatred for our greatest ally.
If you’re looking for a definitive source of information regarding this incident, I highly recommend A.J. Cristol’s book (link below). He has done the definitive work on the subject, having traveled to Israel and spoken with many of the key players who were involved. Cristol has also spoken with Liberty crewmembers and officers of the US Navy Court which investigated this incident and found it to be a tragic case of mistaken ID. He also filed FOIA suits to get classified information released to the public, including (but not limited to) NSA radio intercepts and Sixth Fleet communications.

@DiligentDenizen Ridiculous. Egypt had basically lost the war by the time the attack occured.
Also, the Egyptian Air Force had been largely decimated by the time the attack had occurred.
